It's an absolute joke that wasn't called for instigating.

Flames came back in the latter part of the period, didn't look too bad.

There were a bunch of hooks not called, but the non-call on the instigator was the biggest gaffe by far, not sure how they can justify not calling that.

Ramo continues to look play well, looks calm.

There's no instigator because they squared off and dropped them at the same time. I think the refs are loath to call an instigator in a situation like that even though they technically could.

Brown followed him all the way down the ice looking to fight, if that isn't an instigator don't know what is.

Almost like they felt sorry for him because Gio tuned him up.

Not watching the game because of the Giants game, but I see Gaudreau has the most ice time of all Flames forwards. How's he looking?

Tampa's really trying to lay the body on him so far.

Why was Gio apologizing if it was clean? Hit from behind (and blind side missed) instagator missed, all even.

Looked almost like the hit was an accident, Gio trying to get in position, looked surprised after

Pretty even keel so far.. a few nice passes, but not much in terms of pressure or chances yet.

also 2 blatant hooking/tripping calls on Colborne. Reffing against the Flames this season has been bad.

because he could have hurt the guy when he was trying to make a hockey play. Seemed like an instinctual thing when he realized the guy didn't see the hit at all.

Considering the Flames' first periods this year, I'll take it.

The thing with Gaudreau is he's going to have to be opportunistic to be effective, he's not showing a lot of board battling prowess, which is to be expected with his size, that's why I like him with Colby.

^ What a classic run-on sentence beauty. Ha, I need my gf looking over my shoulder to proofread apparently.
