Victor Hedman is going to win the Norris trophy this year.

Subban won the Norris right? At the moment, he is playing like an Oiler D man. Habs have been terrible, front to back, man to man. None of their line up can emerge with credit tonight. As for the Bolts, they have been unbelievable. Stamkos has been on another planet tonight. 3 goals, could have had 4-5, few other opportunities to score for him and his line. The other forwards have chipped in, the defence look solid with the addition of Stralman. They should waltz into the play offs, just hope they can do a better job than last season.

You're right, it was better in Miami.

The Panthers left Miami Arena (cap. 14,703) in 1998 for the larger arena in Sunrise. The team had a 5,000-person waiting list for tickets when they went north.

Stamkos had 12 shots on net, same as the entire Sabres team. Unreal.

I've been getting a pulse on the fan base here and there were plenty of great fans, but that's what 13 years of being a really really bad team, and 18 years since your last meaningful playoff run will do to you. Just think how bad things were in Calgary in the late nineties when there were some lean years from 95 to 03…now add 5-10 years without the history of the teams in the 80s and a cup win. There's just no hope anymore that they'll ever be a good team. Throw in an awful performance in the home opener and some stupid marketing decisions from management where they eliminated the cheap tickets and last minute deals, as well as curtaining off large sections, created an arbitrary expensive section behind the benches only called "Club Red" that everyone hates, and you have fans that are pretty fed up with being treated like saps. Didn't wait to start winning any games (haven't won a game in preseason or regular season) before doing all these brilliant marketing decisions either.
They've never had any big star power either. The last big player they had that anyone talks about ever is Bure. The keep waiting for the next Bure and he never comes. They're depressed, and see no signs of it getting better. They somehow made the playoffs a couple years ago and then got rid of several of the players that helped them get there. Since then they were the worst team in the league, and the 2nd worst team in the league. They show none of the trademark hustle that the Flames have shown since the rebuild began and there's just nothing to cheer for or get excited about anymore.
In short…think how bad the Oilers have been for a long time now…well the Panthers are worse.

I know you're kidding, but Panthers games average around 4000 viewers per game. TV viewers + "official" attendance could be even less than 11k.

I've seen this a few times, but why do people think it's a good idea splitting Calgary and Vancouver into different divisions?
