same reason it was yesterday. The extra player was a defenseman who was changing with another dmen and weren't involved in the play

Keeping in mind Brian Burke's philosophy on size regarding hockey, what's going to happen here?

I'd hate to see the Flames throw him away, but how do you keep 2 guys under 5'9" 170 lbs?
Bryon is pretty strong on the puck and he'll hit guys (and hurt Sedins). He is small, but doesn't play a small game.

Chernobyl level meltdown on the Oilers board. Kinda wish I could stay up for some tasty CHED calls.

Byron gets better and better as time passes on. If he keeps processing he will be a core player on this team.

Impressed with Backlund. Had a terrible first, mediocre second, but a really solid third period. Battled hard for pucks and made a couple key stick lifts and goal mouth clears in the last frame, and picked up a bonus assist for the trouble, and his line kept the Oilers' top offensive guys off the board at ES. Really shows the difference between the so-called "old" Backlund and the player he has turned into, when he can throw out a couple lackluster periods and bear down when it counts to help pick up the win. Added bonus, playing him almost 20 minutes against the top guys allows Monahan and (especially) Colborne to take advantage of some more favorable matchups in their 13-15 minutes.

Finally, loved Byron tonight. Hardest working guy and seems to have really found his game.

Scorch needs to be dancing on an Oilers jersey.

Some how the Oilers keep finding new ways to be no good. I really don't know how they do it.

Yeah, I get that and I agree, but I'm talking about the whole Brian Burke thing regarding small players and how it could affect the future of Byron with the Flames.
