Welcome to the world we live in. It's one thing to say on here that it's horrible behaviour and the guy needed to be confronted, but in reality, most people would do the exact same thing. People like to stick to their daily routines, keep to themselves and avoid any situations that would bring about discomfort. They would rather sit and capture a terrible situation on their phone to make for 'interesting' conversation later with their friends, instead of actually getting up and doing something about it. Maybe some here would, I sure hope so, but there's often a big difference between talking and doing in this day and age.

I personally would've gone up and made it so uncomfortable for that guy to sit there that he'd either have to try and assault me too, or get up and move. I'm used to being the guy that calls people out on their #### when they deserve it, so I'd have no problem doing it.

Man, if I had a dollar for every time I had to fight leprechauns on the train I'd be rich.

I fight leprechauns like, 3 or 4 times a day.

Buncha basterds those guys.

At this point we really don't know anything, except for the fact this guy is plastered all over the world, and based on just this thread, people already hate him.

I don't doubt the story sits somewhere between he is a total loser and she is a wacky lady, but from what I have seen so far, she made up a portion of the story. This guy has not made a statement.

The fact there is a 'witness' that won't come forward and there are a dozen or so other people there that have not come forward make the whole thing fishy.

Besides that, I usually do not take transit to work, but I have on occasion. My experience on transit is going to Flames games. There are certainly bags on seats, which is rude if someone is looking to sit.
While I would say that maybe the 'assault' was being overblown, the simple and undeniable facts we do know are that she wanted a seat, he had his bag in a seat and would not move it. He's wrong for that. There's no defense unless the bag contained a super cure for AIDS and cancer.

While it certainly does seem as though the guy was in the wrong here, we're missing a whole bunch of information about this situation. What led to him acting the way he did? Was the woman being miserable or rude to him before hand? That would paint things in a different light. Of course, it is entirely possible that the woman involved was polite and calm and just encountered a complete jerk on the bus. Either way, I know that public shaming is fairly standard human behavior, but I think a couple of things are telling:

- That no-one stepped up to help the woman
- That no witnesses seem to be coming forward after the fact

I have to assume the truth about this situation is somewhere in the middle of "this guy is a complete jerk" and "the woman is being very misleading". Either way, this looks pretty bad on the 'leprechaun'.

You go ahead and convict this guy with no trial, no chance to explain anything and literally, no impartial witness willing to be questioned.

This is Canada, and if you decide to relinquish one of your charter of rights, go for it. But don't interfere in his rights, that is simply foolish and makes you look silly.

I implore anyone reading this thread to think about that.

At this point in time, there are a lot of accusations at this guy, and although he may have committed all of them, he should have a chance of rebuttal before we all convict him. The lady on the other hand possibly falsified information and that may not go well for her either.

We know a bit of that, but we don't know why. Did he do it because he was a ######nozzle or did he move the bag to prevent her from sitting there because she is a loon? This process of internet conviction should be something we all think of.

As a transit operator, nothing bugs me more than poor passenger etiquette. There is never a good excuse for an able bodied person to take up a seat on a packed bus with their bag. If this happened on my bus and someone brought it to my attention, I would make sure someone got this seat occupied by a bag.

Wouldn't matter. He doesn't get to decide who sits next to him. If he was opposed to sitting next to her, his only option would be to get up and give her the seat.

The man's yelling at her that "she gets nothing" while not moving his bag. The lady may have been also in the wrong, but pretty much regardless so was he.

It's fun to think that green shirt guy should be punished, but since he's already working in a call center I think it's safe to say he's pretty fairly managing self abuse on his own.

Anyway - verbally assault the next telemarketer that calls. Just think! It might be this guy!

Pretty much true, I don't think anyone disputes that the right thing is to move the bag, or even make space from an unruly passenger.

He is being outed as a terrible person, when it may be he simply made the wrong decision. People in this thread claim they would have harmed him. This guy sticks out like a sore thumb, he will be found.

Think of what he said, if her story is true, why would he say that? It makes no sense.

The guy unlawfully occupied the territory next to him, and then was a dick about it.

That seems like something Nage Waza would argue for

Who's tougher, the hobos or the leprechauns? I've always fancied my chances against a hobo, but the leprechaun is an unknown quantity - an experienced brawler like yourself could maybe give out some tips and advice.

As far as standing on the bus goes, my mother always told me I better give up my seat for gals and the elderly, or I'd go to Hell and burn, and she'd not lift a finger to get me out. Who should I disappoint, my mother or the suffragettes? Can you people not come to some kind of consensus? Seriously.

Leprechauns are probably harder to fight due to their Irish heritage.

In fairness, we have no idea how the woman approached him about the open seat. If she went up to him with extreme attitude and mouthed him off, or made some sarcastic comment why would he relinquish the seat, and then have to sit next to her for however long.

Yeah, that's more than likely what happened here.
