Yeah, that's not bad.

Give it a diver's bezel, an oyster or president style bracelet, and solar charging and I might actually jump aboard.

Watches are just a really tough thing to re-invent there is just so much tradition involved. You have tried and true designs that have remained virtually unchanged for half of a century.

I haven't seen the details yet, doesn't the UI scale with these larger screens? I still agree with the premise in the ad but if they have adjusted the UI to work well with one hand then I might consider it.

It's funny watching some people trying to operate some of the larger phones. They're literally tossing it up and down and catching it just to reach the various portions of the screen with one hand.

Ends up looking like the person is masturbating with their phone.

Should have made the underside of the watch just a regular analog timepiece if you don't feel like being wrist-digital.

My guess is $500.00 over the subsidized price.

Jesus. I just bought the OnePlus that has the same size screen, better resolution, more powerful hardware, better camera, the same storage space, and it was less than half that price after shipping and taxes. I just cannot understand the brand loyalty involved to buy a less powerful device for twice as much.

This is CP. I don't care if it's double the price. I get what I want.

I have a Note 3 and I think it 5.7inch. It was big at first, but after a week its just plain awesome. At first you think that it will be weird to hold that up and talk on it...then you realize that you don't actually use the phone as a phone anymore and for texting, emailing and going online the bigger screen is better. I look at the iPhone now and it looks ridiculously small.

Best part is, with the big screen you can do away with your tablet.
So...
You save money.

Apple has been playing catch-up for a while now. The iPhone 6 will get its sales, though I am curious to see the adoption rate of the larger screen.

However, the watch likely won't flop, but only because of the iSheep effect. It won't be a huge seller, I don't think, but for every person who could make legitimate use of the thing, five more from the cult of Jobs will buy it because Apple sells it.

For me, it's because all my Apple devices (desktops, laptops, ipad, phones) work with and talk to each other seamless. For me, it's less about having the latest and the greatest, but making sure that everything works smoothly and without minimal interruption, especially because I run my business on them all. Apple products tend to that really well.

Apple doesn't really play catchup, their playing field is almost always behind the leading edge, because they don't care (unless they think it hurts their sales). What's the last thing they did that pushed forward the mobile market. High res displays? Before that? Probably the iPhone itself, and that was a software innovation most of all.

It's not difficult to put in more RAM or a faster processor, with the amount of engineering they have they could do that, they just prioritize different things.

I agree the adoption is going to be the most interesting thing. They think that the market has been demanding the larger screen, I kind of think there's pent up demand from people waiting for the larger screen so they'll sell well, but I guess it could be the 5c all over again too.

My opinion as follows:

iPhone 6: Design wise, a lot to be desired. The rubber or whatever, banding is butt ugly. Jobs would have found a way to make it seamless but the thick banding looks hideous and ruins a good design otherwise. As for size, I think Apple hit it out of the park. 5.5" is the new norm, and having held a friends Note, or even the S4, the iPhone seems inadequate in size. If too big is an issue, the 4.7" is a good in between. Feature wise, say what you want about Apple, and others having NFC, mobile payments hasn't taken off at all with others, but with Apple it is sure to happen quickly. I like how they made it easy to install your card. I also like the Android-esq predictive keyboard. Again though, I think all in all, the biggest feature nowadays will be the catch up in size.

Apple Watch: I didn't see a lot of the interactive features coming, so it was a pleasant surprise to see the direction they took it. A lot kinda gimmicky, like sending your heart beat or drawing a stupid face and sending it to your friend on their Apple Watch, but it's at least interesting to see that this will probably be built upon in a more interesting way in the future. Major, major disappointment with the design of the physical watch though. Too small, square, thick, cheap and gimmicky looking. The design is so un-Apple. Too many bands to choose from, which is hard to believe Apple doing, but almost none of them in the presentation appealed to me. Especially at this price point for such an ugly thing, I won't be jumping at the first generation. Maybe the second which undoubtedly will be improved upon, but for now the thing is not elegant no matter what gold is attached to it. Again though, I do like the features to some degree and like where they'll likely take the thing in the future. Hopefully they come up with the second generation around May because I can't see the thing selling big with that cluster#### of a cheap design.
