That BC plate is an example of what not to do.

License plates are for identifying a car. It's helpful if the license plate also identifies where that car is from at a glance. Anything that detracts from that is to be avoided completely. A perfect example of this is Oregon.

When you license your car in Oregon, it appears that you can "support" any number of causes with your license. Wildlife. Your local alma mater. Bicycling. There are hundreds of these things. Thing is, it makes it hard to determine if the car you are looking at is from Oregon, or from somewhere else. And with all the busyness, it actually makes reading the plate that much harder. Defeats the purpose of having a number on the plate if you can't read it.

It's a mess. None of this is necessary. A plate should be for recognizing a car and identifying it. I'm not against changing the plate, and can recognize the logo "Wildrose Country" has legitimate reasons for change. But don't end up with a mess like this. One change, across the board.

I don't care what the slogan is as long as there is a picture of the peace bridge then I'm cool.

It doesn't have to be taken in the context of "freedom" as is implied. I've heard it said that Albertans are more willing to take risks - such as opening your own business - than some in places like Ontario would be. So the "free" could be used in multiple contexts to represent that we not only have the opportunity to tread our own path, but that we are willing to do so.

Your viewpoint is completely understandable, however, and I'm not necessarily trying to change it. Primarily because it is such a Canadian way to think.

We are no longer a province of "wild roses".
Not inclusive enough.

We need to change the slogan to Alberta: - "Progressive & Conservative"
teehee!

This one. The others are too hard to read, and not as easy on the eyes.

I'd take out the dumb alberta.ca though. Looks classier without it.

I like the first two. The middle one more so. Having the website name is stupid though.

The website is kinda dumb but at least it's not a hashtag. Can't really complain about any of the designs though, nothing too terrible.

1) Best use of colour, the URL is poorly placed and bad choice of type.
2) Crap crap crap. If any of you vote for this bootleg DVD quality art then your vehicle should be impounded.
3) Probably the best illustration presented, not a fan of the colour choices

I like the looks of the first one most, with all the blue sky, but when I think Alberta I don't think wheat fields... that's SK.

The third is too drab in tone for my liking, though I prefer that it includes foothills compared to the first.

The second one is nice looking.

I wonder why they decided to omit the white and red portion at the top of the flag?

Was really hoping they wouldn't go this illustrated route, but if I had to choose, the 1st one looks the nicest. The placement of alberta.ca doesn't look very considered though.

At the end of the day, I still prefer the clean white one we have now.

Wheat fields take up almost 27,000 square km of Alberta...

I'm sure most people in Taber or Ft. Mac don't think of mountains.

First one definitely looks the best. I'm honestly surprised they allow you to see the voting results so far. A ton of people have bad taste and are voting 2!

EDIT: What really sucks is an online poll decides the license plate. I can hop on incognito mode on Chrome and it seems to let me vote infinitely. Time to help jihad 1 into first place!
