Skating through the neutral zone with his head down will take him out of the TV series long before season 10.
Unless he's with head office, of course.

You claimed they were among the best bunch of goalie prospects in the NHL and every single one busted.
Fan bases are all the same. Every fan base has those that are optimistic and those who aren't.
You obviously fall into the optimistic category. Its funny that you take offence to the optimistic fans of another fan base when you fall into that category yourself.

Ahh yes, standard Oilers fan procedure. Can't defend your embarrassing joke of a team? Deflect the topic!

I just don't buy this at all, he wasn't great in his rookie year until April rolled around, there was no pressure, and the team had pretty much tuned out any kind of coaching with Krueger and just did their own thing.
For a first round draft pick the kid is an amazingly incomplete hockey player, sometimes players dominate juniors based on physical ability alone, then they get to the NHL and can't figure the game out, that could very well be Yak.
He'll carve out an NHL career if he decides too, but at the end of the day he'll be that infuriating player that gains the label dummy most of the time, and talented for the rest.
I wouldn't count on him as being any kind of stable sensation if I was an Oilers fan.

I believe that 100%. Oiler rebuild needs a rebuild.
I have no doubt that Lord of the Rings has already given the order to MacT.
Keeping Eakins as coach helps as well.
I expect Oilers will be happy with top 3 finish.

To start off, I must admit that you show more dedication and determination than your team ever has in the last 8 years. That or you've a complete lack of work or social life mixed with a vicious hate for the Flames.
To bring some relevance, I wouldn't call McElhinney a complete bust. The guys still in the NHL and played quite a few games last season.
I'd like to stay current and on topic of laughing at the Oilers goalie situation. Bryzgalov, already gone and you traded Smid to sign him. Broissoit is already on the decline now that he's playing for an Oilers organization. Scriven's has shown great flashes, but when the pressure is on this guy seems to chok (looking at the WHC as latest example). Luckily he's a member of the Oilers and the only pressure he's under is to lose games and solidify the McDavid pick.

To add my 2 cents regarding the flames goalie list. Only Krahn was a first rounder and injuries derailed him. The rest were late picks and were developed. Some made it some didn't. I think history has shown that the Flames have been able to develop goalies (Ortio, Brossoit, McElhinney) from late picks. So much that the Oilers traded an legit NHL player (Smid) for a player still early in his development stage (Brossoit). Time will tell if the Oilers have undone the foundation the flames started.
I think it is a pretty big red flag seeing all these guys jump ship. They obviously do not believe it is a environment where they can develop. My sense is that everyone knows the golden boys get a pass and there is no accountability to play a 200 foot game. With that environment it is doomed to fail before the first team meeting before camp.

My guess is 50/50 at best whether they'd have brought him back next year. He's an NHL/AHL tweener. Nothing to see here really.

He's not ready yet, and rushing him to the NHL will spoil his development. So probably, yeah.

I wonder if we'll even see unsigned draft picks of the Oilers hold out in order to get their rights traded or re-enter the draft. Is Nurse signed yet? He would be the prime candidate for something like that.

90% of your organization can be described in this fashion - including the coaching staff and management.
You still need bodies, and it is not all that likely you land many that are better than what you lost.
