Try standing in the slot and kicking the puck in the net with no defender and no goalie. Just you kicking the puck

Its no doubt tougher than using your stick... but if you're stick is tied up you're going to try to kick it in if the rule changed... now you won't.

No you wouldn't. It isn't natural. Also, you have to have your head down and be standing still. You're going to get drilled.

I sincerely hope the Flames re-up Butler. He's a very serviceable 5/6 guy, and has made huge strides in development with the Flames this season.

You know, I think I like Cundari. He's a smart hitter.

Scoring a few more goals by kicking the puck in does not outweigh having sharp skate blades flailing around in a crease where goaltenders are routinely on the ice and defensemen sometimes too. I remember the Clint Malarchuk incident vividly, I don't want to see that again ever.

A few more goals here and there just isn't worth it, imo.

I can feel it, Monahan is going to get #21 tonight to tie Iggy's rookie year.

He just needed some guidance. Hartley has done wonders for all of the players- he's instilled confidence, he's made them comfortable with playing with one another, and he's promoting a winning attitude. The players are playing with a lot of heart. They all had heart at some point, you'd have to if you're in the NHL- Hartley's helped to bring it back. I love this team, gonna miss them over the summer.

Yeah, but if your stick is held what are you going to do? I'm with those who think it's going to increase the number of kicks in the crease. Absolutely not necessary.

Brian McGrattan does not score in the shootout. He simply glares at the goalie until the netminder nervously edges out of the way.
