Coaches Comments:

- Last nights game was one Ward expected to have. Tried to change scenery off the road as history is that the first Friday after a long road trip, they lose. Changed practice facility and tried new things to change that trend. Hockey Gods were good to them last night.

- Miller/Baertschi/Knight played well last night. Line was made out of no where else to put the guys. Miller was on his off side. Felt Miller was the best player last night.

- Too many passengers last night. Too many "Deer in Headlights". Locke/Street struggled and didn't play in the 3rd. Usually they carry them, last night was the night so rested them for tonight.

- Have had good 2nd pushes and focus is good starts to every period. Wants to get off to good starts every period, giving up more then the like.

- Ortio giving the team alot of confidence and that the group has settled in. For a long time, younger players and vets were concerned when Ortio/Granlund/Hanowski were going to be up and down. Group is now settled and not worried about call-ups.

- B. Jones is back tonight barring some hang-nail injury.

- Need to get better at 4 on 4. Believes chemistry and consistency will help that out.

- Flying elbow on Valcourt: Gives Hathaway alot of credit for the fight last night. Doesn't know Brookbank personally, but feels bad for him and doesn't feel it was vicious, feels its wrong place, bad spot and unfortunately it landed wrong. They did send video into the league for review for suspension, but he doesn't wish for Brookbank to be punished harshly as he doesn't believe it was malicious.

No, he is not. He's a Black Ace as per Ward's interview in the pre-game show. Has to earn his spot.

That was the Heat's first SOG as well.

If your a Rockford goalie, it's going to be a long night.

Last edited by Drury18; 04-05-2014 at 08:27 PM. Reason: Couldn't hear the second assist over the goal horn going off again

Amazing what having an actual prospect pool will do for your farm team's offensive numbers.
