Honestly, I could not resist saying something about how proud the Flames have made me this season after this win against the Sharks. Going into this year, the last thing I expected was for this team to give me such feelings of pride... I feel so fortunate that I'm cheering for one of the most exciting and hard-working teams in the entire league.

There's just so much hope with this team and so many amazing story-lines that have come out of this season. The emergence of Gio as a true leader, Monahan as an (almost) 20 goal scorer with crazy hockey IQ, Bouma and his unbelievable hard work and of course Stajan and everything he has been through, just to name a few.

It makes me feel old saying this (I was in the third grade at the time) but this team is the most entertaining team since 2004. They don't just play like a team, they play like... a family. There's just something about this year that feels different, where you can tell that all the players have not only bought into the system that Hartley has implemented, but they have truly bonded. Each player goes out and plays his heart out for the rest of the team shift after shift, night after night. All I can say, is thank you Flames.

If you're old, I'm frickin ancient. Welcome to CP.

Hah, I was thinking the same thing. I remember the '86 run and I'm sure there are older posters than I.

I love this team. I echo the sentiment that Bob Hartley has done a wonderful job this season.

Colborne seems to be coming of age. Sick pass by Wotherspoon, that was beautiful.

Kudos to the veteran forward line, they played a really good game (only minor complaint tonight was that Stajan & Hudler were guilty of passing the puck too much on a few shifts, but other than that, good stuff from them).

Kudos to Glencross in particular for a couple of big blocks on one shift when San Jose was putting the Flames under intense pressure.

This team is filled with adept puck-moving D-men, not least of all T.J. Brodie, who on many occasions carried the puck gracefully out of the D-zone getting the Flames out of potential trouble. Butler has improved in that area of his game a lot as of late.

Just checked out some of their songs due to that wacky dancing and they are actually pretty good. I don't know if I actually like his voice that much in this video that was posted though but the album sounds pretty good.

How can anyone not love this team? Chatting with my boss today (Oilers fan) he said he was straight up jealous of our team and utterly embarrassed by his. We're only one spot up in the standings, but he they are completely opposite teams. Even when we lose we're generally competitive in most games, tonnes of guys sacrificing their bodies to block shots for a 25th place team, tremendous leadership from the vets, young exciting guys willing eager to learn and humble, all put together by a coaching/management team that has everyone buying in, on the same page. Comes down to one factor: PRIDE!!! We have it in spades. Finally, just some food for thought: in the last 25 games (almost 1/3rd of the season) we have a 15-9-1 record which would equate to a 101 points over 82 games. Un*#%^ingbelievable.

By the way... what a horrible free agent signing Adam Burish has been for San Jose so far:
4 years, 7.4 million signed prior to last season.
3 points last year
0 points so far this year.

Granted he wasn't signed to be Joe Thornton, but I'd have to think they hoped he could get more points than Brian MacGratton.

Mark giordano is an amazing captain. The perfect leader for this team. If this team is a playoff he's in the Norris conversation.
