I get that the Islanders are missing their best player and have traded Vanek but what's the excuse for the rest of the roster being junk? The Flames AHL squad is going to school them tonight. They have been bad for over a decade and this is all they have to show for it? Feel bad for the hardcore Islander fans as the organization is such a disgrace.

Ortio looks really good.
He keeps his position well, doesn't lose his net and seems super calm back there - that gives a team confidence to play better in front of him as well. Has some good reflexes too.
He was always sort of the forgotten man in the organization with the attention on Ramo, Berra and then more recently Gillies. Would be ironic and awesome if he turned out to be the diamond in the rough the Flames are looking for.
edit: especially as a 7th rounder
