I have a feeling you have never managed employees in your life. And if you did/do, you must be a terrible one.

Matt Stajan wouldn't be scratched to make a roster spot for Granlund. He's too useful to the team, not sure where this suggestion is coming from. There are plenty of less useful forwards that can rotate out of the lineup.
Now, if a bunch of vets need a "maintenance day" near the end of the season in a large batch, kinda like that Nashville game late last year where we iced the Abbotsford Heat, that's different.

Didn't we win that game?

Granlund will make his NHL debut tomorrow. Ortio starts in net. #Flames

Fantastic news. Hope it goes so well that neither of them ever set foot in Abbotsford again.

Awesome news. Berras likely still a bit jet lagged as well so get a few extra days off won't hurt for him either.

Honestly, I'd rather see them both have a great game (or a couple) and then get sent back to contribute to a successful Heat team. Let them make their push next season.

ECHL, AHL and NHL for Ortio in just one season. That doesn't happen too often, does it?

Granlund on the fourth line...
Well at least some things never change with this team and it's prospects.

They have to earn their playing time? I'm okay with that.

At 22 years and 10+ months, Joni Ortio will be the youngest goaltender to start a game for the #Flames since J.S. Giguere on Feb. 12, 2000.

You know what happened the one time this team managed to trust a good prospect with some legitimate playing time and linemates?
He's leading the team in goal scoring.

Good for Ortio, but I hope we temper our expectations a little bit. Here's to hoping he doesn't get lit up. I hope this board doesn't go off the deep end if he doesn't play that well in his very first NHL game.

Hartley's been pretty consistent with how he deploys the talent... the rookies & the goons get softer minutes (3rd and 4th line line opposition + fewer defensive zone starts) and everyone else get's the harder minutes. They're not gonna give Granlund the hard minutes in his 1st NHL game.

Impossible. According to you the Flames never change.
I guess Baertschi must also have been playing on the 4th line before being shipped to farm.

The only player I know of who did this was Jonathan Quick (2007-2008).

Not sure about any other goalies, I am sure there are some, but there some players who have done it recently.
