I would like to have an option to turn off the announcers actually. One time I was watching CBC and the announcers mics cut out but the on-ice mics were still working so you could hear the sounds of the game and crowd. it was glorious. I would like to be able to turn the commentary off if I wish. I'm pretty well educated on hockey, i don't need guys telling me about it while I watch.

Players getting in trouble for scoring "flashy goals". If you can score then do it, who cares how. I also don't care the score of the game. If you have the opportunity to score, you try and score.

What I don't like is the flashy goal celebrations. No sliding on your knees after your first NHL goal. Stuff like that should be reserved for big playoff goals.

Add Oliver Ekman-Larson to this list.

Guess it is a hyphenated name thing.

What bugs me more is when announcers call players either by their first names or their nicknames like the announcers are buddies with the guy.

Hughson is the main transgressor.

Also, teams/players being referred to in multiples for no real reason. Ie, "the Iginlas and Crosbys of the...."
I used to be in favour of shootouts, but now I've flipped my opinion and want them gone along with the loser point. Basically when a game goes to shootout I consider it a tie since they both couldn't win the game without going to a different game type, which is a skill competition. Plus shootouts aren't done for the playoffs, so why should it help decide which teams make it to it?

I used to be opposed to three point system as well, but have also come around to it. It's the best result to appease majority since you reward those who finish in regulation, win in OT, give a point to both teams if game ends in a draw, and no points given for any type of loss. This way, it'll encourage teams to push for the win late in regulation and OT, since getting the single point isn't really worth much. This could lead to some exciting late game action in the tail end of the season when playoff chases heat up.

Shootouts... They are fun and all, but that's what a skills competition is for. Teams shouldn't be making the playoffs because they have a few players that know how to deke.

People posting made-up, highly improbable line-ups based on things they think will/should happen.

"So if we trade Stempniak for a first and draft Ekblad, then trade some of our guys for upgrades at the wing and sign a few good players in FA, our line-up should look like this next year:"

Someone had a Leafs jersey on at the Flames/Jets game last week. Someone yelled "Wrong game, dummy!"

I laughed.

Cheerleaders. I have no issues with ice girls, but having cheerleaders at a hockey game is just wrong.

edit: Rock and Roll, Part II. Sick to death of hearing it.

I want the Intent to Blow The Whistle rule to get wiped out. I am surprised there is legal gambling on the NHL when a rule like that makes it so plausible for game fixing to happen. I am not saying it has happened (Although I still think its no coincidence that we had 3 years in a row of Canadian Teams Vs. Southern US Teams which all were having attendance issues prior to their appearances in the finals.)
