Do know what you don't see in print very often?

"Hey (hockey nickname), you ****ing ****-sucker, when are you going to get your **** out of your ***** ***** and feed me the puck when I'm open in the slot? You musta got syphilis from one of those skanky *****s you've been ****ing, because I think you're going blind!"

Do you know why you don't see that in print?

Because if it needs to be bleeped out, and the topic itself is wildly inappropriate for any kind of polite conversation, then it probably shouldn't go on the record.

I'm sure it's a difficult line to draw sometimes. But it's not when it involves the phrase "stroking my c*ck".

Seriously. Is this guy ######ed?

I think we should ask Swedish hockey fans what they think.

Frankly I am glad that the sharks did not try to play the old it was taken out of context ploy!

So if a goal, an apple and assist is a Geordie Howe hat trick, and three goals is a hat trick then four goals is a now a taffy pull?
What is a Geordie Howe?

Geordie Howe is actually Mark Jordano's uncle

Kudos to the That's Hockey guys telling Botchford to his face that he crossed the line. Man, Botchford looked uncomfortable during that interview rocking back and forth for half of it. I think he'll be let go. He throws Thornton under the bus and sort of throws his employer under the bus when he says that if he didn't report such a crass comment then he would have been "called on the carpet".

On topic though...seriously how much worse is said each and every day around bigger sporting events around the world?

I can't imagine that the nfl hasn't had worse said on open mikes...and yet...discretion being the better form of valour...

I think it probably says more about the reporter than the player saying it.

To me this kind of thing should be reported more and people should not be offended by crass comments.

Joes comments are hilarious and make the players more personable. It should be encouraged. And I would be okay with a 12 year old hearing it.

Quoted for truth.

Botchford just made every reporters job much, much harder.

It's pretty telling that only 1 of the 20 reporters in the room said anything about it. I bet none of the 19 who didn't are being called out on the carpet, as Botchford says.

Absolutely unreal response. I've met Joe a couple times, and the dude had me crying last time I ran into him.

I love the Sharks response to this too. No apology, just a straight-faced response of 'what do you expect?' Well done.

Jumbo Joe is a beauty! This situation is win-win because the comment is hilarious and Botchford is a complete tool who came off looking as such in this situation and will probably never be able to get a quote or be allowed in a locker room scrum again. The less this guy is on TV, in print, or online the better.

Botchford is not getting fired or shut out of any locker room scrums. That just won't happen.

I do think some players will be a little more careful around him though.
