You keep mentioning Bozak like it has any bearing on Kessel's success. That's a fool's game, and a crutch.

Kane is, as I said, leaps and bounds better. He's younger, and in the last 4 years has almost 30 more points than Kessel. Kessel has literally had 1 and a half great years.

1 and a half.
Not two.
Not three.
One and a half.

Kane is a year younger and has played a season less, and still has 45 more points than Kessel.

Kane had an off year in 11-12, but yet, he still had more points than Kessel had every season he played before 11-12. In fact, Kane's lowest full season total (66, which was 11-12) would be Kessel's second highest point total in his entire career.

Kane out scored Kessel during EVERY season except 11-12, so it's highly amusing that you refer to Kessel out scoring Kane over the course of "the last three years" when in fact he only out scored Kane in "ONE of the last SIX years".

One season.
He beat Kane by 16 points during that one season, and is still 45 points behind a guy who is a year younger than he is.

And yeah, you're right, Stanley Cups are awarded to teams. But lest you forget, the Conn Smythe is awarded to an individual, as is the Calder.
I don't believe Kessel has any hardware recognising performance. That's too bad.

Leaps and bounds.
Need any more evidence?

Your original text was correct. Although, Bouwmeester isn't a good example because he still had a year left on his contract when he was traded.

It doesn't have to be the full season. You can extend a player for a maximum of 8 years if he was on your team at the trade deadline and he has not yet reached UFA status.

You can't acquire a player's rights in the middle of June and sign him to an eight-year deal, but as long as he ended the season with your team, you can. If the player waits until July 1 and becomes a UFA, then chooses to sign with the same team, he can only sign for a maximum of 7 years.

And here's a question for you. How much would you pay for Patrick Kane when his current deal is up? I.e. A smaller, offensive first player, who has ACTUAL off ice character issues. Oh yeah, and he has fewer points than Kessel over the last three seasons._

And 2 more Stanley Cup rings.

I take Kane over Kessel everyday of the week...not that Kessel is a bad player because he isnt, but if im choosing one, its easy IMO.

If that were true, he wouldn't be outscored the last 3 seasons by Kessel.

And yes, playing with the worst top line centre in the NHL and finishing 4th in league scoring is indeed very impressive.

It's funny, back in 09', everyone said Kessel only scored because of Savard. He's done the exact opposite in Toronto.

Should have specified I was talking about Bouwmeester when he was traded from Florida to Calgary shortly before he was to become a UFA. Technically he never made UFA because Calgary signed him prior to July 1st.

He was out scored once in the last 3 seasons, just once.
Kane out scored Kessel in 12-13 and 10-11
Grasping straws? Looks like you might be.
Kane > Kessel
Every damn day.

Looks like you're in denial bro.
You can't fake excellent chemistry, and Bozak and Kessel have it. That's more than enough to make them a great pairing.

Get over it.

Kessel and Bozak have great chemistry as friends. Kessel can score with any plug.

Again, one season.
Care to add in a 4th season and see what happens to Kessel? Care to see what happens to Kane?
Kessel drops, Kane jumps way up.
Why not use four seasons?

Your insistence on using one season as your crutch is incredible.

Just curious, had Kessel had more points than Kane in any season aside from 11-12?

Stats don't lie.
