Wrong Jones. They are talking about Blair Jones.

Oh, I'm an idiot. My bad.

To be a little bit fair, it included O'Brien so I jumped to David Jones.

Still think a little scuffle during training camp can't be read into too much.

It's alright, I'm looking forward to similar confusion all season. I can't wait for the episode where the two Joneses realize they've been dating the same ice girl because she didn't realize there were two Joneses on the team. Hijinks ensue!

I am amazed at some of the comments with respect to fighting in scrimmages.

It wasn't that long ago that the were major brawls every day in training camps. I know times have changed, but...

Why is everyone trying to keep up with the Joneses? I digress, there is only room on the roster for one Jones and it is not Blair!

Loving the line-up that's in Calgary tomorrow.

Ferland - Monahan - Poirier will be the line to watch, especially since Monahan was monster at camp today. Gio and Brodie on the top pair, and Ortio in net, who has been lights out since the Rookie tournament. Good stuff.

Don't know if this was posted:

@RogMillions
Why are people beating around the bush? Sean Monahan WILL be on #Flames. No Doubt. Has there been anyone better at Centre this Camp?? No

While i like Millions enthusiasm regarding Monahan, lets not get out of control. It's day 2 of camp and they have not played a pre-season game yet.

Monahan wasn't even the best centre on the Flames YoungStars team, I haven't seen any of the scrimmages, but I have difficulty imagining him outperforming Stajan or Backlund over a span of more than a period or two.

I just don't think he has the skating to be an effective NHLer yet.

I'd be happy for him to prove me wrong, however...

Dude he was by far the best player on the ice today. Monahan made Stajan look like an AHL'er today.

I agree, can anyone that has been at camp and young stars chime in to whether he has ramped up last couple days? I know he netted a couple goals today!

I don't expect him to make the team, but if he earns it, he earns it.

Sounds like the best (or any) episode of Three's Company.

"Oh, I see, it was a misunderstanding all along. hahaha!"

^^^ So by your logic, Baertschi should be a full time AHLer this season as well. If not worse. You guys need to stop basing your conclusions on these players off of a mere rookie tournament sample size. There's a reason why October hockey is extremely sloppy as opposed to November-April hockey. It takes time for the players to get into the game again and into their respective team systems, and start to click. Same thing on an individual basis.

Sure, Granlund might have looked ahead of Monahan in the tourney, but so far in camp (where it now matters) he hasn't stuck out, whereas Monahan has stepped his game up a notch. Now he has to keep his compete level that high through the remainder of camp.

You should be making conclusions on where a player is at/should be in a few weeks when the regular season is underway. By that time you actually have a fair sample size.

Edit: Anyways, my biggest hopes to make the team remain Ferland (4th line), Monahan (3rd line), and Ramage (5-6 pairing). Would love it if Granlund lit up LaBarberra tomorrow and started to make a case for himself, too.

I was going to say the same thing. Have really high hopes for the kid and it would be awesome if he plays at least 9 games this year, but camp just started 5 minutes ago.
