another article about BSG in the Globe and Mail:
Quote:
In the months after 9/11, the war on terror was raging — a military offensive in Afghanistan, nuclear plants on alert, a Passover suicide bombing, an armed standoff in Bethlehem and Homeland Security's new colour-coded terrorism scares.

Amid this chaos, the U.S. Sci-Fi Channel announced they were reviving the seventies cult favourite Battlestar Galactica.

It just won a Peabody Award, so i think it'll just pick up steam from this point on...now, if they'd only set a release date for the Season 2.5 DVD set...

A Sci-Fi Channel promotional preview clip of Season 3 is at this link . . . I don't think there's anything really "spoilerish" in it.

http://archive.blogsome.com/2006/07/02/like-god/

It seems to confirm that, while the ending to season 2 caused some controversy among BSG fans, it might also open up some intriguing story lines in season three.

I'd love to see Leoben interrogating Starbuck as one example. I wonder how fat Lee Adama is going to get. How crazy is Boomer going to get when she finds out her baby is still alive? Lucy Lawless is signed for ten episodes . . . . one can't help but think we'll see a serious fracture in Cylon society, maybe even a civil war. The comments in the clip above are clearly a present day allusion to America forcing the alleged benevolence of democracy on people unaccustomed to it (dirty leftist *******s!!).

A "Dualla" interview looking at her character in Season three . . . . . again, I don't think anything in here will spoil your day.

http://community.livejournal.com/open_com/15387.html

I think Sept. 19 is the release date for the Season 2.5 DVD with season three on Space in Canada starting sometime in October.

I'm sooo ****ed at BSG.

I caught most of the episodes but not the last 4 or 5.
I saw BSG Season 2.0 on at Best Buy so I bought it. It was only half the !$@# season. The only way to figure that out is on the outside of the box it says in one spot the "running time" which is 7H and a few minutes. NOWHERE did it mention the number of episodes, or that it was only half the season. That is totally misleading, and since I opened the packaging they won't accept a return. I will, from this point on, only get BSG from 'alternate' sources. I feel I was deceived, and I believe it was intentional.

It wasn't really confusing (not quite as confusing anyway) at the time it was released, as it was released right before season 2.5 started. Season 2 was kind of 2 seasons anyway with such a large gap between airings. It was unprecedented to release a dvd before the complete season was over. I think they are making more money from the dvd than they are airing on SciFi

It wasn't available for sale in Canada until season 2 was complete (late May). Hence, since it wasn't available until after the season was complete, I figured the release hold up was so all the episodes would be aired before sale.

^yeah, that was a bit of a ****er wasn't it?

Well, it looks like they are finally going to release the season 2.5 now - haven't seen it in stores yet, but the announcement that its in pipeline is there...

Really interested to see what happens next year...great show - hopefully, when they do find earth, they won't be flying around on those flying motorcycles in the original series

FYI, for future reference . . . . . I ordered BSG Season 2.0 from Amazon.com - USA - long before the season ended in Canada.

Yeah, but I had heard they wouldn't ship up here?

Since the US season half complete before the Canadian one began, I didn't question that the entire season would be available as soon as the Canadian season ended.

I had the first half of Battlestar Galactica shipped to me via Amazon.com long before the full season was completed on Space . . . . . in fact, before the first half of Season 2 was completed on Space.

It was only embargoed at Amazon.ca, the Canadian Amazon site.

On another matter, I've got my dibs on the coming release of a sci-fi book on the USA site that isn't being offered on the Canadian site yet.

Interesting.
I was once told that if the same product was offered on both Amazon.ca and Amazon.com, that .com wouldn't process the order, you would be told to go through .ca (and be subject to any delays/copyright issues)

It is good to know that it is still possible to get the order. I guess the worst they would say is no, so I should have tried. Thanks Cow.

FYI - The season three opener of BSG will be a two hour movie . . . .

Also, the link below is a new TV Guide article that contains plot lines for the coming season . . . . . I would describe the article as illuminating but not necessarily revealing . . . .the information might qualify as spoilers if you're the kind of person who wants to know absolutely nothing about the coming season . . . . . it didn't wreck my day to read it, just made me a little more antsy to see things unfold.

http://www.lucylawless.info/articles/2006/tvguide0706/

Another link . . . . . Jamie Bamber (Apollo) with a few paragraphs about his girlfriends, BSG writing and plot lines . . . . didn't see any spoilers of any consequence here.

http://community.livejournal.com/ope...83.html#cutid1

And season three still images you can click on to enlarge at this link:

Did I just hear that guy say, "This is Kara, your . . . . ."?

Nickleback background music . . . .

Great set up.

Incidently, after listening to some of you guys rave about this show for the last year or so I finally rented the mini series.

Hooked already.

I hope someone on Shaw HD picks this up. Space is one of the worst Picture Quality channels I get. I almost want to get the DVD just to see it in cleaner state. It goes to show the quality of writting that I am hooked on a Sci-fi show where I don't get a great view of the special affects.

Don't know how to discuss this without being a spoilerish. It explains what happened to her in 'The Farm'
