I'd also like to toss out a big fat juicy FU to Florida, Carolina, Colorado and Tampa Bay, like you dooshbag franchises haven't gotten enough top picks in your time. Fricken losers.

Damn it anyways.
This is precisely why I was cheering for losses. This kid is going to be dynamite in the NHL.

Your response was snippy. If you're watching Jones and you don't think there's a distinct lack of fire there, then I don't know what to tell you. Watch closer.

Well Windsor holds what about 6500 while the Saskatoon arena holds over 15,000, so some empty seats doesn't mean they'd make more money somewhere else.

No it wasn't, he looks fine out there. If it wasn't for their crap goalie the game would probably be tied/much closer. I think it's a clear case of hate on the "tanking" Avalanche for getting the 1st overall pick so since it's been widely reported that Jones is probably there guy, may as well dump on the guy.
IMO

True, but for a tournament of this prestige in Canada this looks bad, in my opinion.

Saskatoon playing the Mortal Kombat theme song. Interesting.

Just goes to show that there's absolutely no way they get an AHL franchise. Can't even sell tickets to see the two best CHL teams.

Its not like it was between Saskatoon and Windsor. London got picked over Windsor.. and London will sell it out again. They sold 7000 packages through the presale without even giving out the actual price of the packages.

That said I do agree that London shouldn't have gotten it again so soon. It would have went to Windsor if they hadn't been dinged with that penalty for inappropriate compensation for players.

Hopefully not getting MacKinnon means we'll end up with McDavid instead. He's going to be the better player (probably), and the hockey Gods will owe us one.

We should still be ####ty in a couple years, when Florida, Tampa Bay, and Colorado should no longer be in the mix. It's teams like Nashville and Phoenix that worry me.

Nobody should be planning to be terrible over 2 years from now. Hopefully not management.

Ekblad I can understand, but I certainly hope we're nowhere near McDavid.

With the lineup we should be icing the next couple years, there won't need to be any planning. As long management doesn't intend on trading futures or signing high priced UFA's were bound to be in the lottery mix in two years.

Not saying that's what would be best, but why fight the tide in this case?

Next year we're going to be in a division with LA, San Jose, Anaheim, Phoenix, Vancouver, and Edmonton. In two years what teams do you honestly see Calgary finishing ahead of? Maybe Phoenix if they're still even in our division, but that's about it (unless one of the other teams blows things up).

Come on. Florida and Tampa Bay have sucked for a lot of years. If we have learned anything it is that many bad teams in the NHL stay bad for a pretty long time.

Florida should be better next year just by likely having less injuries. I don't know about Tampa, two Art Ross competitors and still that bad ... so who knows. Colorado won't be aggressively tanking, so they should be better. Nashville will probably suck again, and the Oilers of course.

We'll likely be bottom three next year. So Reinhart/Ekblad territory. We should just keep drafting centers at least this year and next year if we can get Reinhart.

Have have this feeling in my gut that McDavid will be a Flame. So it's most likely not going to happen.

Yeah, we'll never land the clearly best player in a draft. It's just not in the stars, save yourself the heartbreak.

I think in 2015 we'll be 5 - 10 for draft slot anyway.

I plan on being ahead of LA, San Jose, Anaheim and Phoenix. And I KNOW they will be ahead of Edmonton and Vancouver.
