Primary contact =/= initial contact, just because he hits the shoulder first doesn't make it a legal hit, the brunt of the hit was absorbed by the head of Stoll, which means it's a head shot.

You can say it's not a head shot as many times as you want, I disagree and so do the only people that matter.

This wasn't a head shot though, there was contact with the head during the hit but there was more of the whiplash motion associated with the hit that caused that contact (it looked oddly enough more helmet to helmet than anything else). The initial contact was with the shoulder.

At the end of the day Stoll put himself in an awful position, wasn't situationally aware, and Torres hit him hard. While Stoll got a concussion that doesn't necessarily mean that Torres hit him with a direct head shot.

Hit looked identical to Moore on Naslund and Canuck fans were irrate about that one.

Stupid hit - could have / should have just checked him hard through the body . I'm okay with checking players in vulnerable positions, but guys have to recognize it and dial the throttle back a touch to make sure it's clean...it's still going to be a big hit and take the guy out of the play, but not send him to the hospital.
