Brodie/Backlund are the two most important players on this team right now imo.

First 3 game winning streak of the season and 6-2 in the last 8, for what it's worth.

The names Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin, Steven Stamkos, and Evgeni Malkin come to mind. The 4 best players in the world. All 1st round picks.

I didn't see a lack of effort by the Wild, certainly not by the big signings. Both played their asses off and in the end their first line just ran out of gas while the other lines could get anything done.
What is shows is that you need more than a couple of guys to build a great team. It was their old secondary scoring that failed them.
Having said that, Pominville was the most invisible guy on the ice. I thought he was supposed to be a player.

I know it is only one game but I was very impressed with him. He can play defense, can hit and very impressed with long passes. I sure he keeps up so for the next season he can help Wideman on power play. Next game against Nashville. It seems like Colorado and Nashville are just playing for first pick overall. I hope Nashville put up a fight instead of throwing the game because I wanted to see the young guys play competitive.

Well I hope one of Detroit or Minnesota miss the playoffs because of their late season loss to the Flames, hell both of them can lose out and feel shame, and make their owners lose a pile of money.

Both Detroit and the Wild really needed to win those games. I don't think the Flames were taken all that lightly.
Also - even if the Flames' plan was to tank (man I hope not) what else could they do here? Glencross, Wideman and Tanguay are hurt - they are forced to play youth, who are playing well.

You missed the point.
We are still going to get 3 first round picks, regardless (unless, somehow, St.Louis sh**s the bed.
Yes, those you listed were all first round picks, but the were not all 1st over-all picks.
The point was, Picks can BOMB. You can pick 1st over-all, and the 154th can do wayy WAYYY better than expected, to the point you say "SH** Son! I don't know why we picked this dude!"

Malkin was chosen 2nd overall. First round. Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. If you can name more 1st-5th overall picks that failed than succeeded you win. But you can't. I guarantee that.

Good to see these guys working hard.
I just hope Feaster doesn't try for a "20 goal" lineup for next season and these young guys have a chance at making the team.
The worst thing that could happen is if we go after other team's garbage through UFA or trade. Let these young guys flourish next year.

Should have watched the wild broadcast. They did a short feature on him, but he was never mentioned again....

Totally. I was amazed when someone mentioned him in the game thread. Their second and third lines were a mess when the pressure started building during the game and Pominville was like the worst of those guys.

I understand that. But think of it this way:
This team was sucking and losing anyways, why not get something out of it so we dont have to suck forever?

Oh, and how about the passing skills of Cundari? In one game he probably completed more passes than Butler has in about a month.
Every pass today was on the stick with the player in stride.
