I wonder what the new Flame identity will be. What kind of team will they become? A winning one we hope, but who will the new heros be? It'll be interesting to watch them develope.

I think our identity will change from 14th overalls into 6th-9th overalls for the next few years.

I thought we'd be bottom of the league for the next couple years ... but there are some bad teams out there.

Absolutely terrible. Hopefully the flames website will make it right and show a video of the team congratulating him and hopefully of the team saluting the crowd since it is the last game of the year on home ice.
As a proud fan who lives outside of Calgary and who couldn't be at the game, I feel completely ripped off.

Yuck, I know, I had the same problem. But I was watching on my xbox, and pressed 'select', to swich the feed to the Ducks feed immediately, and was able to catch it!

I hope that management has learned the lesson that you don't fill up a team with guys who don't have to perform to maintain their lifestyle. All of those long-term contracts and no trade clauses were a recipe for complacency and now that there has been a shake up we see a team that embraces the notion of working to prove you belong every night.

Hopefully we win the draft lottery, but either way I'm looking forward to seeing where the team goes from here. Some very likeable players trying to earn spots now.

Wait, what. Backlund was in a fight?

I'm glad to see a fellow Swede embrace his inner Viking.

Well first off ...
I'm now 21-2 when I watch the Flames live. I promise to stay away the rest of the season.

The Chant and send off for Kipper was amazing... the best/funniest part was the guy and his kid sitting in front of me tried to start the Kipper Chant all game long and it just doesnt happen. He tries to start it again at 2 minutes left in the game and same thing... at 1 minute left it starts, not by him though, and I guess he got mad bc he just left. I got a good chuckle out of it.

Sven Baertschi very quietly with a 4 game point streak, 2 goals and 3 assists.

Roman Horak also with a 3 game point streak, 1 goal and 2 assists.

Backlund fighting, blocking shots, playing lots of minutes, looking really good, and with 0.52 points per game on the season so far.

...and Brodie, man is he a player. Logging close to 24 minutes per game since Bouwmeester was dealt.

4 real bright spots for this team going forward IMO.

I was pretty angry that he took the job from Turek in 2004, but Kiprusoff has been one of my favorite Flames.

It was kind of nice to see him go away and it was nice to see Perry score so his last goal against would not have been that bouncer from Franzen.

Mark Giordano has really come around as well in the last few weeks.

Really good to see.

I have to wonder if the inspired play by the team and especially the rookieshas given Kiprusoff pause for thought. He seemed excited for the play of the prospects and the culture change in the dressing room.

Who knew McGrattan was a goal scorer.
