13 K in 4 2/3 innings? I think that may be more impressive than the 1 hitters yesterday!

Vogelsong finally has a good start for SF, then his throwing hand was fractured by a pitch. Could be out two months. I'd like to see the prospect Michael Kickham called up:

This made me smile this morning:
Quote:
The memory of baseball hero Gary Carter will be commemorated by the City of Montreal today with the renaming of a street in Villeray.
A section of Faillon Street will be named after the onetime Expos catcher, who died from brain cancer in 2012 at age 57.
Carter, nicknamed Kid or Kid Carter, was a fan favourite who captured the hearts of many Montrealers during his 12 years as an Expo, before the team was moved to Washington, D.C.
His big-league career began at Montreal’s Jarry Park, where the Expos played their first few seasons before migrating to Olympic Stadium. The park sits adjacent to the stretch of Faillon Street that will soon honour Carter’s name.

Mike Trout hit for the cycle last night. Mariners TV broadcast said he's the 6th youngest player ever to do it.

Why in the heck Leutge didn't pluck Trout in the back to send the message is beyond me. The game was 11-0 and the only thing left of interest was the HR for the cycle. You'd think the Mariners wouldn't want to give their rivals any more momentum.
....impressive nonetheless but one of those potential turning points in the season for the Angels/Trout to the Mariner's detriment.

Well lousy Okanagan weather on my holliday's means I'm going to Seattle on Saturday to watch King Felix take on the Rangers. Hoping it will be a good one.

This was kind of funny. I can't get my head around how they could have screwed up that badly.

Anibal Sanchez loses his no-hit bid with 1 out in the 9th.
That's the third no-hitter broken up by Joe Mauer in the 9th inning, which tells you:
a)how much the Twins suck.
b)how good he is.

Best part is third base coach Tim Flannery. He is going to get tagged out one of these days--he runs with the runner down the line to the plate.

Well they should have kept the roof closed at Safeco last night as the Rangers piled up the hits on King Felix. Still it was cool to see about 3000 in theKings court part of the park. Derrick Holland has his good stuff though, no earned runs and 10 K's in 6 and 2/3 innings. I still think Washington is a bad manager. He sac hunted with the LH hitting Martin in the 2nd inning giving the Mariners a chance to escape. Than pinch hit for him later. After he singled and tripled in his other two AB's and showed no reason to be pulled defensively. Why sac bunt a 800 OPS guy so the .680 Andres hits with runners on 2nd and 3rd?

Incredible, tonight was the first time Mariano Rivera has ever blown a save without recording an out and he did it against the putrid Mets.

Ha ha, at the game last Saturday, I couldn't help but think good thing this is a great stadium, because this doesn't look like much of a MLB calibre lineup to me.
