MacKinnon was injured for a bit, but I don't think that explains all of it.

The problem though with your Montreal example is that they are not likely to win the cup. The Flames in 06-09 all were fairly decent, but they were pushovers because they didn't have any good centers (Langkow was adequate)

If you can get Barkov, or McKinnon, you go with them (I'm assuming we're not picking first)

I say if its a choice between Drouin and Mackinnen. You take Mackinnen. Who knows, maybe we'll suck for a couple years and can draft Connor MacDavid.

Whoever we draft, I sure hope we dot rush him into the NHL. I want him to develop more rather than learn to lose on the Flames

Not too picky between Drouin and McKinnon they seem to be pretty close so I guess if the team has they ranked even you go with the center.

I just hope if we have a top 3 pick we don't end up with Jones, but it seems like his hype may have someone take him 1st.

Don't care who they pick...huge need at every single position. Whoever they do pick will hopefully be the new guy to build around.

I see us picking 3rd-4th, in which case i find it hard not to take 6'3'' barkov.

As bad as they were the last few seasons, they had the tools to at least win a few games. This is no longer the case. They will be drafting top 5 or higher, my guess is top 3.

I think my preference would be MacKinnon, then Jones, then Druoin if we're picking in the top three. 4/5 Would be Barkov/Lindholm.

The Penguin pick... I'd bet on either Petan (Some eye popping stats and Feaster has shown himself to not object to taking smaller guys) or Compher (NCAA bound two-way center with the U.S. national developmental team).

Down to our next pick in the third round I'm hoping for Taylor Cammarata. He looks like Gaudreau 2.0.

All the Jones haters are going to look terribly foolish when he's winning Norris trophies down the line. We should be so lucky to draft him. He'll be gone 1st overall.

McKinnon has to be the #1 guy. My dream would be for the Flames to shomehow get McKinnon and Drouin so they could be together for a long time and help the Flames in the future. I think the two of them with Gudreau would be insane.

If tere is any way to get those two, I don't care the cost.... you do it.

I Dont care as long as he works out and becomes a really big contributor to the team. A franchise player would be the ultimate goal, but let's be realistic I'll settle for a good top 6 forward at this point. God it already feels like the off season with all the draft talk plus the all of the warm weather.

I dont see the.flames grabbing the number 1 pick. Hopefully get 3rd with drouin left. Who had the.patience to.draft defensemen?? Drouin looks soooo strong for his size and should be growing.still to maybe jam through nhl dmen
