What I like best is I still think his nerves are causing a lot of the bobbled plays, hesitation, over committing, second guessing, etc. He's had very little NHL experience in net before this stint, let alone starting in consecutive games with no Kipper "safety net" there to relieve him if he falters. Not to mention it's early in the season when everyone is still in the hunt for playoffs so every game is a big one. But we're finding a way to win with him in net and nerves are easy to fix the more time he gets in net.

The athleticism is certainly there as he's made some outstanding saves since he took over for Kipper. I like that the team continues to roll with him. No reason not to at this point.

Irving has been fine hes making the saves were needed to give the team a boost. Will he ever be a Kipper no but will he be an Irving yes let the kid be him self and grow into his own and Flame fans will be suprised with what this kid brings to the table one day.

I think he has done ok so far. However, the people in the organization know a lot more than me and they don't feel he is good enough to start in the AHL. Therefore, I continue to be nervous every game he starts. To this point though..pleasantly surprised.

He's done alright so far in my opinion. I think some of the bobbles and squeakers are common for a guy stepping up a level in competition. It's not that they're necessarily a weakness of his, but it's often just keeping up with a faster pace, harder shots, and maybe a few nerves for a goalie to do that at a new level. Right now he's going through a learning process first seeing NHL work since starting with Malarchuk. With goalies a lot of times tweaking things in their game takes a bit of time until it all just clicks. It really is too early to tell what kind of career he might have. Many top goalies struggle a bit with things the way he kinda has so far, but not everyone with his skill set can work out the kinks and become a good NHL starter.

He's been a non-factor imo, completely neutral. The games we won, he was ok and didn't dictate the outcome. When we lost it wasn't really his fault either. At this point we don't have an elite goalie that will win us games like Kipper used to but atleast we don't have a total sieve like Karlsson was. If Henrik was here it would be time to trade Iginla.

Can't remember the time when the Flames had a solid back up.... maybe Curtis Joseph or Vessa Toskala? Irving sometimes shows flashes of brilliance and at other times, being shaky and awkward.
