What I didn't like on today's CNN coverage was the ex-FBI official that Anderson Cooper was interviewing while we were watching the fire burn, saying that this guys allegations should be taken with a grain of salt because it was the writings of a lunatic, and someone that was racist himself. Sure something must've snapped in Doner's mind, but doesn't mean he was necessarily delusional or a liar. It came across as an incredibly dishonest thing to say, especially considering Doner seems to have some legitimate questions that should be investigated. That dummy seems to have made up his mind already though.
^ Yeah, and the guy assigned to run the investigation on Dorner's allegations stated something to the effect that he's not doing it because it has any credence but rather to put the allegations to bed as quickly as possible. It kinda sounds like the "Blue Shield" is as strong as ever.
Dorner is still a jackass, though.

There's a video going around where police are overheard saying "burn it down" before the cabin goes up in flames.
*edit* found a clean version of the police communications
Just curious, what everyone thinks of that. I'm having a hard time blaming them after the path of destruction that Dorner left in his path. If he is smoked out and exits the cabin, great. If he decides to go out in a blaze, his choice.
It's a slippery slope though. I can definitely see why people would be uncomfortable with police doing something like this. The backlash would be unprecedented if he had unknown hostages in there with him and it's always scary when police cross the line and become judge, jury and executioner.

The cop convicted would be frozen in a cryoprison until his arch-nemesis is unleashed on a peaceful future society that is unequipped to deal with it. To make matters worse, the only surviving restaurant will be Taco Bell.

And he is the only one who doesn't know how to use the 3 shells.
I wonder why the LAPD was trying so hard to have him killed. Sucks we'll never know.
Maybe because he was a psycho who liked shooting at and killing cops, had a vivid revenge and hero complex, and it was clear that they weren't likely to get him to surrender without a further loss of life.
I'm sure cops have two fantasies when it comes to cop killers, one is bloody vengence where you get to drill a bullet into the head of the killer (they also have the same fantasy about child molesters). or two watching a cop killer squirming and begging for mercy as they're strapped to the gurney or the chair while they wait to die.
Dornier hadn't gotten his bag limit yet, he was a violent and dangerous and obviously smart man who wanted to be given the opportunity to kill cops.
