Well, unfortunately what the true vernacular is and what you think is correct are different. At any rate, I've stated the facts and it's up to you to believe it or not

And the only reason you're being told to google it, is because you aren't accepting of the answer given here, I never told you to google anything, I'm happy to answer away

You could forgive me for not choosing to outright believe you with some the sillyness in the NYC shooting thread. And some advice: linking some sources to the facts you claim helps ensure that they are valid and verified rather than simply your opinion. I now do believe you when you say shells are the wrong term. So thank you for clearing that up.

And I'm literally in tears because a couple posters ignored me and don't like me. Hope you guys are happy.

Here....I'll do the dirty work for you:

Many people mistakenly call a cartridge a bullet, probably from watching too much TV. (NOTHING that you see on TV or in the movies relating to firearms is factually correct.)
Quote:
A centerfire cartridge is an assembly that consists of four parts: the case, primer, propellant (powder), and a projectile (bullet). The bullet is only the part of a cartridge that flies downrange and hits the target.

well being wrong for longer don't make it right haha. Super common, just like calling magazines 'clips', and cartridges 'bullets'

I'm sorry, did you do that when, in your opinion, you told him he was wrong? And you call others in here a hypocrite.

Recommendations of places to go and purchase a gun, within the Calgary area? The Shooting Edge seemed nice. But then again, it's the only place I know of.

I guess I'm looking for a place where I can purchase, practice and get registered and licensed and all.

Calgary Shooting Centre is the only other one I'm aware of atm. I think some of their prices are a bit cheaper that TSE. I'd check out both locatons as they are only about a 10 min drive from each other.

I wonder if those commonly used terms like "clips" and "bullets" became inaccurate, as a result of the courses demanded under the new gun legislation. Were you ever involved in any of the courses?

Ha ha! Why the ninja-edit? Seemed like a valid follow-up reply. Anyway, it's all good.

Calgary shooting center, shooting edge, proline shooters, wholesale sports all carry pistols. Only the first two have the ranges to test drive

haha, busted! Naw...did that as I was thinking about other places to buy firearms and forgot you were looking for a facility that you could buy/shoot at. So the other 3 most certainly don't apply so figured it was a dumb thing to post.

But ya, for restricted, those are the only two in the city. Calgary Shooting Center is the advertised as being "the most advanced range in North America".

Good facility, nice and clean. Much nicer than TSE IMO. The one thing TSE has over the Calgary Shooting Center is a pretty decent rifle range. CSC has a cinematic range but don't think it gets used all that much. To expensive.

nope, they mean different things entirely, clips are a metal strap that cartridges slide onto, allowing you to push a number of cartridges into an internal magazine for reloading. Lol at an sks rifle for an example.

Bullets have always meant the projectiles, as was mentioned people slang termed cartridges some time ago and it just stuck. No changes though

Proline shooters? Never heard of them, I'll have to check that out. Thanks!

Wholesale does have some handguns but I think they are done selling them, only have old inventory left and certainly nowhere the selection that CSC and TSE have.

And if I wanted to troll I could troll much harder than I have been, believe me. Lots of studies out there that have negative links to gun ownership, or hunting, and when I want to actually troll I will bust those out, because the gun owners will be ready to pounce.

I also love GoinAllTheWay saying I should just google it. Then why does this thread exist? If the point is to simply go to google, then why have this thread?

I would LOVE to see some studies that show the negative impacts linked to legal hunting.
