Mancini says it's his fault. Richards says ..... it's Mancini's fault. Mancini then says ....it's not just me.

Quote:
"It was probably my fault because I prepared badly for this game," Mancini said. "I didn't prepare the players and I'm at fault. When you prepare for a game sometimes it is a different to what you expect. Sometimes you think the game goes one way and it goes another. We played a bad game. We had a few chances to score but the players didn't really play well."Mancini started the match with a 4–2–3–1 system, changing it early on to 4–4–2 and then abandoning that for 3–5–2 during the second half. His right-back, Micah Richards, questioned the changes after the match, making it clear there was opposition within the dressing-room to operating with a three-man defence.
"It's not something that we've worked on a lot, we're just used to a back four," Richards said. "But the manager likes it and if we want to do well then we'll have to work harder on it. It's a hard system and I think the players prefer 4-4-2 but he's the manager and we'll do what he says."
Mancini, however, suggested the problem was not solely about the way he set up his team, but also their attitude. "I don't know what he [Richards] said but I don't want to have this. On the pitch we are always 11 players. If you have spirit and quality you can play in the Champions League. If you don't have it, you can't. When you play this game you must have spirit and it is my fault because I should have prepared differently for this game.

Nice to see confusion and finger pointing ......... and a defeat.

If all their focus is on the domestic title, it's a bit worrying for my own selfish interests. Can I hope they have infighting again? Ok cool.

As do I. Really, I'm a Bayern fan because they were the only team you'd ever get to see on TV and they are stocked with German nationals. Now though I like seeing all the German teams do well, I really like Dortmund, Schalke and Hamburg because they have players that I really enjoy watching.

Its much more casual fandom compared to any other teams that I follow.

I support Dortmund fully, only because of the Polish content. I'm sure once Lewandowski, Blaszczykowski and Piszczek leave to their next clubs, I'll once again be struggling to find a team that I can REALLY support. Most likely I'll get behind where ever Lewandowski goes but it won't be to the same degree. Maybe one of the Canadian MLS teams can get him as a designated player!

I used to support Real but once they basically switched out Beckham for Ronaldo that became really difficult. They literally got rid of my favorite player and replaced him with the player I hate the most in the entire world.

Exactly my thoughts. I think the form Torres is playing in right now is the best he'll play in a Chelsea uniform, and that's not nearly good enough to not buy another striker.

Falcao would be nice too, but I don't see Chelsea spending another 50mil this season on a striker.

Every time I hear ManU rumors with Lewandowski name I shudder.

The minute Chelsea signs Lewandowski I'm buying a jersey!

won't happen anyway. Ferguson really likes Lewandowski, but the RvP transfer killed the possibility. I'd rather have Hummels anyway

Berlusconi gets 4 years in jail for tax fraud.

And they wonder why Italy is practically bankrupt.

Quote:
AC Milan president Silvio Berlusconi has been sentenced to four years in prison for tax fraud at a court in Italy.

Berlusconi, the former prime minister of Italy, confirmed on Thursday that he would not run in next year's elections as the leader of his People of Freedom (PDL) centre-right party and was handed his sentence on Friday.

Yeah, its a little tough to run for office from the Carcere di San Vittore.

Match day today.

City vs. Ajax

I'll be watching Madrid vs. Dortmund with an eye on Schalke vs. Arsenal.

Just hoping the German teams do well generally. Not to mention, who wouldnt want to see Madrid and Arsenal get stuffed? I dont think its going to happen though. No harm in hoping.

If Wenger had any brains/money he'd be pounding on Schalke's door for a new, better Dutch striker....

Huntelaar is a tricky player though. He was a failure at Milan and Madrid but was absolutely dominating for Ajax and Schalke.

Pretty good goal scoring record internationally as well but if you look at the international games he scores his goals in they tend to be against weaker competition.

Seems like the type of guy that really needs to be in the right situation to perform. His style fits in well in Germany but not sure it would work as well in England.

I'm not feeling overly confident for BvB today.

Real will come out flying and be hungry for a win and for the first time in a while BvB was held scoreless in their last game.

I'll agree and disagree. Huntelaar's biggest issues in those clubs is that he wasnt the go-to man and the same is said of the Dutch National team. When he is your #1 striker he scores goals consistently.

With Schalke hes their main striker same with when he was at Ajax. With Milan and Madrid he was always second to someone who had been with the club longer and didnt get the opportunities.

Huntelaar is an amazing striker, but you have to give him the opportunities. I'd have him on Liverpool in a heartbeat.

The biggest issue with Dortmund is consistency. I think they're a good enough team to beat anyone on their day but they just dont show up consistently enough.

Being 5th in the Bundesliga though they know that they have an excellent chance to progress in the CL with a win tonight that might soften up their poor Bundesliga form. And they know they can beat Madrid.

I'm hoping Ajax manage a win as well. Let City focus on the PL and maybe snatch it again.
