loose puck dekes seem to be the same to me, the normal skill stick is slower and i don't find it very effective at all

Just terrible. Duncan Keith moves around like a locomotive. You could be a 63 rank player or an 86 and you skate the exact same. This game seems even more broken than NHL12

it's just the momentum.....try smaller players like st. louis and you'll notice that they skate alot better in general

Duncan Keith in real life an turn on a dime. So can Zetterburg. Neither of them skate any better than the players I had on my 4th line in HUT. Hopefully the sliders can fix this.

still struggling to score in HUT even though I can muster twice the number of shots and TOA against the CPU. the goalie is just so hard to be beat while even though they have less shots at a similar quality, the CPU seems to score just enough to win every game >.<.......

For those having trouble scoring, have more patience and try to set up great scoring chances that will truly challenge the goaltending. Movement, cycling and making use of traffic will yield results.

Man. After playing the NHL 13 demo and then playing NHL 12 for the first time in a week i can't believe how much easier it was playing NHL 12. They have really bumped up the difficulty this year.

i also seem to ring it off the post alot....got to the finals in HUT a few more times through defense and puck control but keep losing in OT or the last few seconds >.<
anybody else find breakways difficult? in free skate you can do pretty well on breakaways by gliding and deking but in game you don't have time to do that since the CPU D hustles hard.

I found this too, although the opposition junior players I face in the first game of the HUT tournament seem to be as fast or faster than my mostly NHL line-up.
The puck flies off my stick if they breath on me and, of course, they seem to be able to score more with 1/3 the amount of shots and 1/2 the opposing attack time.
I spent more time quitting the demo in annoyance than anything else.

I think the reason that the players are slow in the demo is because when you play it takes place in the 3rd period. By that time the players are usually exhausted from skating a long game. Pretty much they are making the game seem more realistic. It makes sense that younger players have more energy throughout the game. That's my theory at least.

^^ Don't so much agree with the theory I've had some success in hut by locking my position to RW or LW. Haven't tried many of the other positions

Same. I was hoping to see if the game was better if I used my custom NHL 12 sliders.

This game is ridiculous. "Improved AI". LOL. I just beat a Superstar AI 7-0 and 4-2. The games started at 3-0 and 2-2. and this is someone who was challenged by superstar AI in 12.
Well I'm having fun-either way, still my most anticipated game of 12-13. But still, come on, EA, gotta do better than this...

After wanting to rage quit about 5 times in the HUT mode I gave the Play Now mode a try and found it much easier. Not sure if EA made it extra hard for some reason, or that having a 3rd and 4th line of crap makes that much of a difference, but I found playing as either the Kings or the Devils to be far easier.
It's a huge step forward to train yourself to not just blow into the zone and keep the speed at 110%. That was a big part of my style in 12 and it simply doesn't translate well at all to this game. My buddy who prefers to set up a perimeter is having a much easier time with the demo.

I find the AI to be the exact same in every edition of the game. They are never where I want them to be. In the offensive zone they always stay with the defenders, its ######ed. They should do the opposite, ie. find open ice, but they almost never do.
The one thing I've noticed is the 2-1's are much better. They don't just skate away now when you have an odd man rush.
I'm also really digging the new strategy bar (FC or NZ). With the strategy at full FC I've been able to get quite a few brakes.
I'd say the AI has improved, but it isn't that great.

I also find the offensive CPU AI to still be ######ed. I like to cycle the puck and play along the boards, but they all seem to crash the net regardless of what I have my strategy set to. It sucks having 2 forwards tied up in the front of the net by defenders all the time.
