I never said he was more likely, just said I wasn't shocked. That is not being racist, it's having your views impacted by what you see and experience.

Care to explain why it is a facepalm?

He is a 20 year old who is good at beating people up. Could just be my experience with young hockey players who are good at fighting but they usually tend to get into some bar scuffles off the ice too. Difference is the majority dont end up with assault charges and media attention.

In some cases they tend to look for the trouble a little more then others and in others its because other young drunks who think they are tough tend to want to take down the hot shot hockey player to impress some people.

If you don't think this stuff doesnt happen you likely havent hung out with many groups of 18-20 year old hockey players recently

Was this bar in your community? If not, what the hell was the point of bringing that up?

I don't understand the point you were trying to make then? And what did it have to do with Michael Ferland?

I agree, you would think with the Olympics on people would not care. IMO people need to lighten up, whats a little bar fight here or there.

You've been a rising hockey star, charged with aggravated assault for allegedly sucker punching a guy and breaking his orbital bone?
If true, yes you are a bad guy.

He's innocent until proven guilty, but if the reports turn out to be true it's certainly more then a little bar fight.
We shouldn't downplay the seriousness of the allegations just cause he's a Flame.

How does this get into the news? No seriously. 3 summers ago something very much like this happened to another Flames prospect. And not a peep about it anywhere. Could it be that the arresting officer just happened to recognize the name so he called the media? Or maybe one of the bystanders in the parking lot?

And also, how bad is a broken orbital bone? I don't know what that means. Doesn't sound so good. I've had fractured skull. It sucked. Head trauma hurts.

I think where it happens means alot, since it happened in Alberta its getting more exposure.

As for the fractured orbital bone, i would dumb it down and say that the eye socket is fractured

Is there no button to report posts to the mods? Or am I just too busy getting drunk and fighting to find it?

I never said such a thing. But in my particular community it is more prevalent in the native population.

Why do people in this place feel the need to turn you into a racist or bigot just for making an observation. I hate to be the bearer of bad news here but certain ethnic groups are more prone to alcoholism problems than others and with liquor comes violence.

A little bar fight? Sounds like a sucker punch to me. He hit the person trying to help the other person off the ground, a total and complete D-Bag move. Shows a complete lack of discipline on top of being a dick. And being drunk is not an excuse, otherwise you must then excuse all actions that happen when a person is drunk, including date rapes and sexual assaults. Alcohol is not an excuse, its just one drunks like to use because its convenient.

Though I do expect one of his buddies to try and fall on this grenade for him.
