Wrong. Institutional zealotry is the root of all evil. "Religion" just happens to be an institution that is easily overrun by fanatics.

If anything, being allowed to marry would encourage monogamy.

Not that unmarried people can`t choose to be monogamous or that all married people are, but taking the vows do encourage that behaviour.

Anyone know of a site where to find the demographics of voters for this? I'm going to hazard a guess that older members of society are behind this ban. Perhaps less so among younger voters.

I know I'm going to get hammered for this, but sometimes I wish the older generations would pack it in already. Or at least not be allowed to vote, as decisions like this shouldn't matter to them when they're 85 years old and don't even leave their houses anyway. Leave the law making for those that are actually going to live through to see them.

Let me know what you find, I don't believe its all just the older generation. Just because your in the younger generation it doesn't make you open minded or somewhat Liberal.

I would bet that there was a pretty even vote consensu in that State.

Anyone else want to cut that chart out, stick a pencil through the middle and mumble "Pretty colors" while it spins in the wind?

Of course not.

Homosexuals are famous for being promiscuous.

Given the map of the election results from a couple of pages ago, I'd gander to say that, similar to much of the states, the areas around Wake Forrest, Raleigh-Durham, the Pharmaceutical corridor and the other urban areas the age of voters was probably in the lower demographics (20-45 age bracket). I'll also bet that most of the people in those regions aren't necessarily North Carolina born and raised.

Outside of those regions, I think you're dead on with an even consensus across age demographics.

Citation needed.

Please link to a study that shows that unmarried gay people have more sexual partners than unmarried straight people.

My wife and I voluntarily chose not to procreate and raise children. Do you think our marriage should be invalidated?

So then you are 100% in favour of banning people who are sterile, too old to have children, or those who don't intend to have children, from getting married?

So did those without children have failed marriages?

I realize you are not 100% serious on this, but you're wishing old people would pass away or lose their democratic freedoms simply because they disagree with you on a certain issue? The goal of many of people on this thread is to fight against the irrational and intolerant ideas of the Christian right- not sure if presenting a considerably more irrational idea is the right approach.
