What's an HMV going to do? Are we going to see walls with USB Cables sticking out where you can plug and pay for your music needs?

Wonder if the fairly strong vinyl market is going to stay around for a while. Seems like it has built a nice little niche.
I'm going to miss the physical packaging too.

If people don't have their books and music on display in CD racks and bookshelves in their home, how am I going to judge them? How will I know what kind of people they are?

This kind of sucks for people like my dad, who's an audiophile, but doesn't know how to use computers. Hopefully there's still a niche market for high quality CDs, SACDs, and Bluray CDs. Or they can start doing more on vinyl. Being analog, that is still be best pure quality sound you can get.

Your mobile device will automatically link with theirs and tell you about all the music you have in common. It will also link your interests via the next current generation of FB.

Your device will immediately start a loud siren if the person doesn't meet your standards. You will instantly know how many albums and artists you have in common.

Yup. I downloaded a half dozen albums a few months ago and after building my new computer all the new stuff has disappeared from my itunes. All the music but the stuff I downloaded made the transfer over no problem.

I tend to buy CD's as opposed to downloading the music. From there it goes straight to my computer where I make compilation discs for my vehicle. Now i'm buying used CD's from Value Village for around $3.00

Bought 3 CDs on the way home from work today, also check in at Hot Wax and Recordland every couple months or so and buy a lot used. Order something new from Amazon at least twice a month, either a CD or BluRay.

I have a big CD/Vinyl/Cassette collection, not interested in buying mp3s.
