Really enjoying the expansion so far, I've only got to level 87 but the zones are very cool.

Me too - I think it's quite good though I'm averaging less than an hour a day right now.

I'm levelling my rogue through quests - my tank through instances and a monk on the side.

Gonna hit 90 tonight, and I've gotta say, this has been the most enjoyable leveling experience I've done in the game so far. Jade Forest and Kun-Lai Summit especially were really well done and very fun to play. The mini quest hub system works quite nicely and keeps you moving around the zones to see new things. They also added just the right amount of little cinematics to keep the overall story of the expansion going.

Overall, I'm very happy with this expansion so far. Blizzard really got into the style and theme of this expansion, and it's the best looking of all them all so far.

Ah, been sucked back in to give this a try. A buddy who I used to play with who quit around the same time I did (pre-Cata launch) has given it a shot, and says he's really enjoying it. Figure I'll give it a few months to impress me (or not).

You realize that you are, in fact, still playing WoW and that it's just a new expansion.... right?

Well...I went in and had a look around, and can't believe how much they've changed the hunter class. Pretty much feel that it'd just be better to scap the lvl 80 main I had, and start all over. Wow. Just about a totally new game, it seems.

I've quit playing WoW for a year or longer at times. And when I do comeback and re-roll to another class. Its fun to play a different class after such a long break. Like you said, they have made so many changes since then. Since you last played they changed alot of the leveling zones. Thousand Needles is one of my favorite zones now. Its level 40ish. Leveling is alot faster too.

I randomly logged on Friday and pretty much played all weekend and am level 88. I'm so totally hooked on this game again. I should be 90 before the end of the week.

Now to find someone to raid with....

Or you could use the Looking for Raid tool. Now you don't even need a guild.

LFR makes me want to stab myself in the eyes. LFR is super easy compared to regular raiding so it's easy to gear up with, but the people you have to deal with...literally the worst of the community can be found there.

So the LFR option is to WoW as the random thoughts thread was to CalPuck?

Interesting logic.

Didn't want to make a new thread for this, but they now have a director for the WoW movie; Duncan Jones (son of David Bowie).

http://www.wired.com/underwire/2013/...t-movie-jones/

Quote:
With two critically acclaimed, small-to-medium budget sci-fi movies under his belt, Duncan Jones (Source Code, Moon) is seemingly headed to the big-time with the announcement that he will be directing Legendary Pictures’ big-budget live-action adaptation of the popular MMO game World of Warcraft.

Confirming a Hollywood Reporter story from earlier that day, Jones took to Twitter Wednesday evening to write “So the gauntlet was thrown down ages ago: Can you make a proper MOVIE of a video game. I’ve always said it’s possible. Got to DO it now! ” (Blizzard Entertainment also confirmed the news via its official World of Warcraft Twitter account.)

Jones’ tweet points to a hurdle that the WoW movie will have to overcome: The fact that movies based on videogames tend to be somewhat… well, lousy.
