If you have winter tires on separate rims, can you simply take your summers off and put your winters on without issue if you have a torque wrench etc?

Sorry for using clear examples to refute your earlier statements.
Supercars of 20 and 30 years ago perform like sports cars do today. Let's see some sports car examples from the 70s and 80s that perform like sports cars in 2011.

Now now, Sliver. You can't change your earlier statement.

Ugh, I'm doing exactly what I said I wouldn't do, which is argue with you about this.
Here's an example for you: a 1977 Ferrari 308 GTB with a 0-60 mph of 8.1 seconds.
Today that kind of 0-60 wouldn't be considered a sports car. Back then it was a sports car. That's the type of Ferrari I was referencing when I made the above comment.
Ferrari supercars (what you've been referencing) from back then are more akin to sports cars today.
My point is this: cars today perform better in every measurable way than their equivalents from the 70s and 80s. Do you agree with that?
Don't worry Silver, the rest of us understand the concept of a Toyota Sienna beating several different models of Ferrari from that era, and yet how a Sienna isn't a sports car now but a Ferrari was a sports car then and standards change.
On that note, I sure enjoyed smoking civics (which would also beat a Ferrari 308 GTB) with our rental Sienna in Florida. That thing was awesome.
You guys have to quit bringing up my hotrod Sienna or Redvan's going to get jealous.
But yeah, since you brought it up, my Sienna would wipe the floor with some Ferraris from a few decades back. Minivans, is there anything they can't do?

Oh, I didn't realize you were talking about a specific model of Ferrari. Keep in mind you said "Ferraris" A more common Ferrari, like you referenced: 328GTB - 166mph and 5.5seconds. Does that fit your requirements? Or is it a supercar?

Oh, well now that you make your statement far more specific, I'd be inclined to agree with it, in most cases. Had you stated this originally, it would have made much more sense than your previous statement.

Well if you hadn't edited almost every post to make this conversation borderline impossible we probably would've found common ground much sooner.

Yes all you need to do is take off the summer rims and put on the winter rims, torque to spec and check the tire pressure. For some strange reason people think they need to re-balance the tires but you only need to re-balance a tire if you take it off the rim or a weight falls off.

Hahaha, you think what you will. Had I been more prepared I would have refuted it in my first reply. Would that have made your original statement appear any less ridiculous than me showing that it was through more than one reply? I think not
Sports cars are judged by their peers in their given era. By Sliver's logic we can't even classify a car today because it might not fit that criteria tomorrow. Asinine.

I forgot to add to this thread that I got a ride in a Tesla Roadster Sunday.
WOW.
I've never felt acceleration like that. So instant! It's totally like riding in a super-powered golf cart. The throttle goes down, and instant peak power. It's amazing! A very, very cool vehicle.

Maybe re-read what I wrote. That's not what I said at all.

I think a better answer than the one I previously gave is they certainly were at the time, but compared to today's sports cars they fall short in every possible way.
