Just got back from 2 weeks in Cancun and man this weather blows. You go from +28 wearing flip flops and relaxing by the pool to -28 wearing a parka, winter boots and shoveling snow.
This friggin sucks!

I just got back from a ski trip, dropped off a sick friend at 11 am but got stuck in the parking lot. Spent about an hour digging myself out to find myself stuck again. Managed to get out of that by an hour, then got stuck again. Thank God someone came at around 1 am from his house to help me push out which we got in about 30 minutes. I have never had such cold toes in my life and been so tired ever. FFF YOU SNOW!!!

Shoveling does suck. Screw snow. On the other hand, I can't get to the motorbike dealership right now, because there's a bit of flooding going on. I took this photo an hour ago.
That's 8.8 metres of water. 29 feet. Not over the normal water level. Oh no. Over the road surface on the bridge.
I hope it stops raining soon, or I'm building an ark.
Edit: here's the same depth marker on Streetview.

^Near there... Snow drift formed on my house cuz of a retaining wall I have and no houses behind mine. Cleaned it off the plows blocked off my driveway a second time.

We are getting our first blizzard in KC, up to 10 inches of snow, which is not a lot by Canadian standards but it paralyzes the city here. All schools shut down, highways are gridlocked and a lot of the snow on side streets will melt before it gets salted/sanded/cleared.

I would get bored if it were constantly the same temperature. I like bouts of the snow, the freezing cold, hot, rain, sun, cloudy, high humidity, dry, etc., etc.

You would think so right? There's a street off of Panamount Blvd. (Hidden Creek Way maybe?) that has a huge park facing it so when there's blowing snow that road (and the houses) get piled with snow. Anyways, when I travel down that street I just drive on the opposite side of the road (there seems to be an understanding between drivers in that area and there's room for two cars) but I always see people try and drive through lane with all the snow, while there's another car stuck there, only to get stuck themselves.

People like this are just too stupid to deserve a drivers license. Improvisation like this trumps any road law during extreme weather conditions. But some people are so scared of getting a ticket or something, that they'll endanger themselves and others instead of thinking logically and figuring out that no cop in the world would give you a ticket under certain circumstances. Like when you see someone driving on the piled up snow instead of in the ruts because the dotted line is in one of the ruts. Stupid moron. All the lanes are equidistant. Forget the stupid dotted line and stay in the ruts like all the other traffic.

It's gotten really sad. Eight dead, eleven missing yesterday in Toowoomba, which about 100km upstream of my house. Flash flood, all of the sudden the downtown core was under water.
Still raining this morning.

At least this isnt as bad as last year when we had similar wind but WAY more snow.
I remember driving home and having to ram through 4 foot snow drifts... not fun.

We got about 4 inches here in Wichita. They recorded 123 accidents between 5 AM and 9 AM this morning. People here have no idea how to drive. Snow falls and they go all

A Bronco and Flames fan in Wichita?? You sound like me- I'll bet everyone remembers you by your choice of sports teams! I am a Bronco/Leaf/Flames fan in KC- rare combination.
I do hate this weather though, people do NOT know how to drive and it's scary!

River's about four metres higher than when I took that photo, and the water's rising fast and is gonna keep rising for the next few days. I'm going by the gov't website, it's not like I can look at it since my suburb is completely cut off now. Won't be sleeping in my 'Nucks jammies for a while, I think.

Snow plow just did our street.
The good: My street is now clear and drivable.
The bad: The snow plow put nearly all of the excess snow right in front and beside my car. It's going to take at least an hour to dig myself out.
FFfffkkkk.

My father in law arrives here today from Van. Isle. Should be a nice little shocker in store for him. I love it.
I don't feel sorry for him in the least as he's off to LA Saturday for a month long cruise around Cape Horn, then up to Brazil.
