How fast is he? Are we in for a poor mans version of Denis Wideman?

I've never seen him play but everything I've read so far says he's a good skater.

Well, he's apparently with the team on the trip (or will be meeting them). Young call ups always seem to sit out the first game but older players get thrown right into the mix. I expect a 3rd pair of Hanley-Miromanov.

I think Kelly Hrudey is the most nervous as he's not the best at names. I remember him butchering Jirki Jokipakka prettty good

Kelly always sounds like a small car going up and down a steep hill when he tries big names.

He was an all-star in the AHL last year. Injured this season. As usual, the pro scouts likely know what they’re doing.

Winger turned defense men. Kind of like kurtis McDermid but probably better.

I do think Huska will have a positive influence on the D corp as a group and hopefully Mironmanov in particular.
The trade is a little underwhelming, but there does seem to be a real plan in place and the pro scouting seems to be a key part in that plan. Perhaps Scorp or anyone else with more knowledge can explain what is different with our pro scouting team? That seemed to be a real weakness for years, based on prior trades and free agent signings. Is it now a strength?

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

I wonder if he and Grushnikov make an ideal pair down the line.

I see that as a huge possibility? Unless our new addition can be a 4 we really are only missing one defencemen and i dont think this looks much worse than we had. Little less on the top but better on the bottom.

Burns was in the NHL at the age of 18.
If our new guy can play a credible job as our #6 dman, we should be happy.
Plus help on the PP.

He has good AHL advanced stats FWIW (if I read them correctly which is iffy). Big points man in junior. Obviously a big guy.

Absolutely love that confidence; sounds like he has a chip on his shoulder. Hope that confidence shows on the ice, even through rough times (and there will be lots of those coming up).
