Klimchuk will likely be in the mix next year, but no chance for this year.

However, with Monahan likely out of the equation, I hope that Jankowski gets his spot. (I think if asked, he will say that he doesn't want to go)

And I think Poirier had a very good chance of being on the team.

Poirier, Jankowski, Monahan and Klimchuk... I bet 3 make Team Canada. At least half will likely make it.

My prediction is 1. Poirier will make it. Monahan will be in the NHL. Klimchuk is not quite there yet. He will make it next season. Jankowski could be a good player in the future, but he's not at the WJC level at this time.

Nope. Caption translates to: "Emile Poirier # 27 Olympic Hit On Mark Trickett # 55 of Victoriaville. 2 Minutes for Poirier on the game and he received no suspension for his actions. October 10, 2013."

Yeah, that hit was a couple weeks ago now.

Two goals tonight for Emile by the way. 24 points in 14 games.

It was new to me too, I love the fact you posted it. I was directing that post to PMM for the suspension comment.

Tough to really tell if it was clean or not, but his elbow does seem to extend a bit. Could be just the follow through.

Emile Poirier is now 4th in the QMJHL scoring race with 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists) in 14 games.

BTW if you are a Telus High Speed Internet customer it appears you can watch QMJHL streams legally here (I can't check since I am on Shaw):

What do I need to do to watch High Quality games for free?
To be able to watch HQ games for free, you must be a registered TELUS High Speed Internet client and use a computer connected to this service – and using an approved IP address – while you watch the game. Your system must also fit the minimum computer requirements.

Your computer needs to be connected to your modem or your router using a standard network cable. We do not recommend using a wireless (wifi) connection.

Poirier playing in the super series, as per the Flames website.

If he has a good showing at this it could really help him solidify a spot on the WJ team Canada roster. Glad to see he's playing so well so far!!

*EDIT* It's really too bad that Poirier did not play in the Olympiques 5–2 win over Jonathan Drouin and the Halifax Mooseheads last night. It would have been really good to see him head-to-head against a top-five pick from his draft.
