I think the worst part is that I don’t really see them doing any damage this year and I don’t really see anything exciting in the pipeline in terms of blue chip prospects.
I also don’t foresee a rebuild anytime soon. I think we’re in for 5 of 6 years of up and down inconsistent crap hockey. Really tough to be excited about this franchise right now.

Everyone not named Rittich is leaving Toronto with more points than they deserved tonight.

We do over react Dino. But I'm with Keen on this one. Lou, just can't admit that this team isn't that good.

Two most annoying things about this team over the past few seasons.
1. Cant make a crisp pass
2. Can't hit the net

Thanks Flames for lowering the bar so much that a clean zone entry or a completed pass or 3 shots in the third period seems like a victory.
If not for BSD and Marky this team would be in the basement.
I hate what Geoff Ward and company have done to them.

I want us to get blown out 7-0 every game until Tree is forced to hire a real coach. Actually, screw that. I want Tree to have to fire his coach and then Conroy be put in charge of hiring the new coach.
|
Much as I hate to say it, wasn’t Conroy a huge part of hiring Gulutzan? I seem to remember a story about Conroy climbing some mountain path with Gulutzan and coming out of that convinced that Gulutzan was the right guy to get the most out of this team. He was wrong.

If someone told me we'd take 3 points from the Leafs in this 2 game set I would have been quite happy.
Rittich played well again giving hope for a great tandem to finish the season.
I'm happy with the results.

At this rate, I don't know if there would be any worse if Ward is not behind the bench?

These are the same players that were near best in the league in 2018-19, what's your explanation? They forgot how to play?
If you think they aren't good enough to win a Stanley Cup, fine, that could very well be the case. But zone entry should not be this big of a weakness for these players, and it wasn't before this head coach took over.

I’ll take the positives and point out Kylington looked great, Valimaki continues to make outstanding plays in the offensive zone and we have one of the best backup goalies out there.
But yea I agree I can’t help but wonder what an established coach, who doesn’t need to quarantine for crossing the boarder, like Julian could do.

I think you forgot about entering the zone on the PP as well

Ottawa has been on a roll lately. I wouldn't be surprised if its a split.

I just don't want to hear how they did so many good things. I don't argue they didn't but this defensive focus is crushing my soul! Tell me how you are going to create some ####ing offense!
But they are going to be happy about this.

They might be the same people, but they aren’t the same players. Gio won the Norris that year. Now he’s barely a 4th defenseman.

Great game by Rittich - feel bad for him - he deserved the win. Having said that, it was a tight-checking game, some imbalance in the penalties, and the Flames came out on the wrong end. I don't mind the game; don't think coaching was a big issue this one, but I do think that Monny floating in on the winning goal was...that's on him. His guy, his float, his loss.

It's going to be grinding, no margin for error hockey against them too.

Team looks like complete garbage haven't looked good at all this year even in wins.
I think we would be the worst team in the league with average goal tending.

Foget entering the zone even. How about exiting the zone!
