It’s not like “coming off surgery” is something that is going to improve for him at his age.
They didn’t rush him back. He’s healed. This is it. This is as good as he’ll ever be.

Yup. It's not like older players ever need game reps to get their timing back or adjust to new teammates.

You guys do realize his return and the Wings losing streak has coincided with Larkin being out for taking that hit to the head, right? (and also the resulting Perron suspension for his even more dangerous retaliation)
Kane is not the savior of that team, and its still debatable if they can sustain their early season success as a playoff team regardless of whether Kane is there. He's not particularly the problem or the solution. And to echo what Hackey said, it seems the folks hating on Kane are way more vocal in this thread than anyone trying to 'White Knight' for him.

So why did they sign him and why did he sign there?
you guys must admit it's not going well so far

If your standard is that a player has to be THE solution to his team's problems, then no team should ever sign any player, anywhere, at any time.

He certainly hasn't been THE solution, so by that standard, no.
By the standard of a veteran player returning from a major injury without a training camp? That remains to be seen. Some of those signings work out and some don't, but they don't usually look good for the first few games. Judging the signing on three weeks' worth of results seems to me like a fool's errand.

I hope you aren't talking about me as I am kinda indifferent to it...looking at it though it hasn't gone as either side has hoped so far
I saw people discussing it and put in my 2 cents...I thought it was an odd choice from the start, thought he would sign with an actual contender

If this was the Flames you'd be saying "guys relax it's only been 7 games! he even has 4 points in 7 games. it takes time to learn a new system and get up to game shape. and build chemistry with linemates"

do you just follow me around to knock all my posts
you are obsessed
Kane signed with them because he thought he could win there
The Wings thought he could help them win
so far its not looking good, not much of a debate to be had
there is plenty of time to turn it around I never denied that, I really don't have a horse in this one other than I thought it was an odd signing on his end

I think he signed there because they offered him a contract.
The best teams didn’t have the cap space nor the need.

If the vitriol group wasn't making hoopla about it, I think I would've forgotten that Kane went to a team and is in the league again.

Goodness me you two. Can you take it to PM. I keep coming into threads because perhaps something interesting is being said, and it's just you two going at it again.
Do us all a favor and figure out a different way to deal with each other.

I think that if all posters stopped commenting on posts they felt a need to comment on and getting a life instead would probably lead to all CP threads only having a single post.
I come here specifically because I have no life.

Or as the marriage counselors assigned to my wife and me by the Roman Catholic church her parents insisted we get wed at would say, when you strongly disagree, "sex it out".
