Post re-rates I have a player that is going to have an interesting journey. Players don't get a rating for being injured for an entire season 2 years ago

(I'm assuming to not penalize immediately for teams that have such a player. It gives an extra season to work out strategy and takes things like the Kucherov thing out of the equation altogether. I have two players, John Ludvig and Sean Walker, who are rated 0 for missing entire seasons 2 years ago, while they played the entirety of last season. That's ok, I just have to plan ahead by a season for those players.),

but they do get a rating for injuries incurred in the most recent season.

Gabriel Landeskog.

So, he gets a rating this season (77OVR), but will not get a rating next season. What makes it interesting with this player is that he has one year left on his contract at $6M. So, next year being a contract year, he will be rated 0, and be signable as a UFA on the roster at a really low hit for three years. He will, however, have to take up a roster spot on the main club for a year where he will not be playable, because of the injury last year. Payoff will be on the backend of his contract.

After re-rates, some of the younger players that I was counting on did not rate well. For this reason, I am good on defense, but bad at forward and goal. I am also prospect and pick poor.

I would not assume he has no rating next season. These things aren't always consistent year to year.

I will have to see all of these guys go, in order to fill up the CPHL roster or picks in any years to reconstruct future assets. My AHL is full to the brim, so not looking for that level of player. Any other players (CPHL, ECHL or picks) I would listen to all offers and be reasonable in return as long as it helps the club.

now that we have ratings:

- I've had a number of discussions about Jamie Benn (76 ov, 1 yr at 6.5m), who's coming off a great season. He's still very much on the block.
- Reilly Smith (74 ov, 2 yrs at 6.5m), coming off another solid season. Good sim performer and a solid top 6 winger.
- Damon Severson (74 ov, RFA) re-rated as a top-pairing defenseman. Can be locked in for the next 3 years with an RFA contract.
- Scott Mayfield (72 ov, 1 yr at 5.25m), rock-solid second pairing defenseman.

I am primarily looking for picks, prospects, picks, downgrades ... did I mention picks?

- I'm also still open to moving down from pick #7. I had a lot of talks with different teams about moving down from 6, before I eventually just dropped down one spot - but I'm more than willing to drop into the early 10s and pick up additional quality picks. So far, the value hasn't been there IMO (granted, I'm aware I'm asking for a lot), but if you want to have a go at it, let's talk.

Decided to keep our Yukon kid...had some decent talks but we drafted him, traded him, reacquired him so let's keep him around. He can slot in as #2 C.
