Taking questions. It's pretty basic for a presidential nominee.
By that definition sites done a ton of them. A formal press conference is where you send an open invite to press and take questions. She hasn't done that in 9 months. It's semantics
But Benenson is right about the many interviews Clinton has granted and the questions she fields from voters on the campaign trail. The problem with his defense is that not all Q&As are created equal. Sure, Clinton is willing to take questions from the journalists and news outlets she selects and from the people at her events who generally support her, but she won't submit to the unpredictable nature of a news conference, where she would face inquiries on who knows what, from who knows whom.
Which is why today might actually end up totally backfiring for Trump. Remember it's the media who's been on their knees for Trump for a very long time now. A few days ago with Trump's childcare plan as a textbook example: he says Hillary has no plan, when in fact she has a much more detailed plan on her website than he does. Does the media call him out on that lie? Nope, they just let him perpetuate it. He's been allowed to get away with a staggering amount of lies that the media refuses to call him on.
But after today maybe they finally realize they are the suckers in the room. That they are the marks. And maybe they finally will show a spine and call him out on all his lies rather than just take them, and actually push him harder in interviews. No more Matt Lauering basically. Or maybe they'll cower again and prove they are Trump supporters favorite word: ####s.
Nah. They want the race to be tight so viewers remain engaged. The only way the press goes after Trump is if he opens up a substantial lead. It's all just a big reality TV show at this point.
Is that different from banning outlets that ask questions you don't like? And she's been asked about every email/foundation controversy, so who asked those?
I'm not saying she shouldn't have done press conferences, but my point is that it's not really much different from what she's been doing
I'm not getting into whataboutism. My thoughts on Trump are clear, it's pretty obvious he's not presidential. My statement was that a presidential nominee should be taking questions in an open manner. She wasn't doing it.
Maybe she's doing so poorly because she's just campaigning like she's competing against Trump. Maybe she should start campaigning like she's trying to become the President of the United States.

Has Trump not toned it down and acted more "presidential" since a number of weeks ago when he had that disastrous series of reboots? That's helping him. Regardless, people down there are morons.
Just wanted to add to this, the audiobook is on Youtube.
... Although you should really buy it. In fact, buy several copies, and give them to others.

I realize that you're still sore over Sanders losing but he would be doing worse. You don't understand that the word socialist is dirtier in America than anything else that's been discussed so far, nevermind that he's even older than these two. The Bern was a pipe dream.
Probably. But I wonder though. Sanders and Trump are both considered anti establishment on their respective sides. The right wing base isn't voting for a left wing candidate no matter what and those are the folks that cry socialism and communism, so I wonder if Sanders would indeed be doing better with the left base and independents.

Sanders isn't nearly as appealing to working-class minorities and the elderly as he is to young educated whites.

I was just wondering if this is opinion or fact? I am not saying you are wrong, but would think that minorities who feel disenfranchised would like Sanders considering he walked the walk back in his early days.

Oh my God that is amazing. Not surprising though. This is why there are cults.
