Randy Shannon, I was hoping he'd be the guy to bring Miami back to prominence. Not sure who they could get to put them back on the winning track. I'm hoping whoever they find brings the mean streak back, not dirty, just tough.
Speaking of Shannon, talk about a tough childhood:
Per Wiki
Quote:
Shannon had a difficult childhood. At 3, his father was murdered. At 10, his older, twin brothers became addicted to crack cocaine. His brothers and older sister died of AIDS.

Why wouldn't we? Wouldn't Wisconsin get the Big11 spot and then Stanford (being #2 in the pac10) get the other spot?

Nope...TCU will likely get one spot with the other going to Wisconsin.

Looks like you are correct, in fact TCU won't likely get the spot, they will according to wiki.
The Big Ten and Pac-10 (soon to become the Pac-12 conference) retain their bids. A provision has been inserted for the first time that either conference cannot fill their bid due to qualifying for the BCS National Championship Game. If that happens and a non-BCS conference school qualifies, the Rose Bowl is required to take that school.

The 2 names that have immediately surfaced for Miami is John Gruden and Mike Richt, if he is fired by Georgia. Most "experts"/media guys from Miami speculate that UofM is too cheap to hire Gruden, who would probably be looking for at least 4 million per season. Gruden is going to be near the top or at the top of a lot of different team's coaching lists this winter.

Cant imagine why Georgia would fire Mark Richt....great coach who had his best player unavailable for the first 4 games which saw them lose 3 of those. Not good enough by Georgia standards, but he gets another year at least...i would think.
And i also cant see Gruden going to college at this point. he will have more than enough suitors in the NFL if he wishes to get back into coaching.

I agree about Richt and Gruden. Gruden might get to pick his NFL job, if in fact he wants one. I would the 49ers, Cowboys and I read last night that there is a good chance that Sparano gets fired in Miami and that Ross is already looking into Gruden.

If you are interested University of Miami Director of Athletics Kirby Hocutt is having a press conference at the top of the hour to discuss Shannon's firing and the process for finding a new head coach.

It wasn't too bad, but I came ill prepared. I only had a long sleeve shirt on and it was in the high 30's (maybe 2 or 3* C) and a pretty good gusts of wind.
It was suppose to be in the mid 70's and low in the high 50's low 60's.
the real reason why I was so cold is because I sat the whole game because I had nothing to cheer about.
I was also in the Bull Gator section (Florida boosters) and needless to say they weren't very happy
I am 0-3 this year on games that I attended. I'm actually glad this train wreck of a season is over.

UGA will fire Richt, if it doesn't happen this year it will happen next.
But Miami needs to hire a coach that brings excitement back to the area. The Canes seem like they are in an attendance race with the Heat at this moment.
FSU had it's first sell out of the season last night and the only reason why they did was because they gave a ton of extra ticket to Florida to sell.
I got my tickets for Face value. I can't remember the last time that was an option.

So ESPN College Gameday is coming down to Corvallis. My buddy and I (OSU season ticket holders) are going to make the trek down at 4:30am. Hopefully my Beavs decide to actually play this week, unlike their pathetic showing at Stanford.
