Dude... Good luck. I had a girl move out to Calgary from TO for me and the minute she got here, I wanted nothing to do with her. It was awful. Looking back on it, it was probably some kind of mental thing where I was scared that if it didn't work out, her life would be ruined, so I wanted it to fail very early on so that her moving back wouldn't be a total disaster. Yikes, did I ever f*** that up. Totally awesome chick, really good looking and a huge rack, and for some reason I just freaked out and orchestrated the failure of the relationship. Luckily she wanted to stay because she got a job that she really liked and met a bunch of people through work. Plus we remained friends in the following months, so I was really lucky that I didn't have 'ruined someone's life' on my conscience.

Valentines is low key anyways. It's on a weekend this year, so everyone is going to going out. We rather avoid the rush.

You owe her alot more than Valentines and Birthday!
How can she freak out over 25! Wait til she gets to 30!

Thanks 4x4
Well, it's actually pretty good far. We have been long distancing it for the last 4 years, so it was either I move or she did. At the time, our economy was better, so it was a lot easier to for her to find a great job here than in TO. We both realized the risk of moving for each other, and the differences between a real relationship and a long distance one. As a condition, who ever moved had to be sure that they could find a great job, really as a backup that if our relationship fell through, it would have at least been beneficial in some aspect of our lives (ie career boost). Fortunately, she found a great job here at the Lung Assc and getting experience that she wouldn't otherwise get in Ontario.
As for owing big time, how do you thank someone for volunteering to move to Siberia....hence roses are a start

In the Sin Bin

About three o'clock, we get assigned a call by a user who says the request is "urgent". She needed some finance data zipped, encrypted and burned to a CD so she could courier it out to an agent of some kind. My boss dumps it in my queue, even though it obviously is not a tech support call, but a DFU who can't operate her own computer properly.
Less than ten minutes later she caught one of my co-workers in the hall, and tore a strip off of him because we hadn't responded to her yet. He never saw the call, so had no answer, he came back asking our boss and I what was going on. We told him I had the call, but I was busy dealing with real problems, like users with broken computers, and would get to it when I could. He called the user and told her this, at which point she started getting upset again, saying it was critical and had to be done immediately.
So, I did the only thing I could do. I went home. I might suddenly find myself tied up for a good chuck of tomorrow as well, we'll see. I think I might be able to slot her in late tomorrow. Maybe. I do have three days to resolve the issue, after all.
The moral of the story: don't piss off tech support. We can, and will, ruin your life.

Green Tea Lattes from Second Cup are pretty good if you get them half sweet. The white chocolate flavour really compliments the green tea.
Starbucks' Green Tea Lattes are horrible. When they first introduced them I ordered one but the cashier let me know they were sampling them and to try it first before ordering. Good idea. It was horrible. I ordered something else instead.

Hey, trust me, we girls look at the photo threads, and chances are we remember which of you guys are really hot
Also, re: Valentine's Day.
I've been single for all but one Valentine's Day of my life, and that one V-Day, I was 15 years old, and my boyfriend at the time had pnemonia, so I got nothing from him. Last year and this year my best friend (who is also single) and I have planned a trip for the Valentine's weekend.
I've actually never gotten a Valentine's Day present. It's an incredibly overrated holiday, even if you are in a couple.

About 5 years ago I was in several car accidents. Between May 15th and November 6th, I was the victim of 3 rear-end collisions--one hit and run, one in the midst of a traffic jam and a woman behind me not paying attention, and the third I had someone pull out and cut me off (I stopped in time, the person behind me didn't.)
By the third one, I had some pretty wicked whiplash/soft tissue damage. I went through physical therapy, I tried facet nerve block injections, I tried massage, chiropractors, heat and cold therapy, medications, etc, and it's never gotten better. Eventually the doctor told me I'd just have to get used to it, more or less. Sometimes I wonder if it's worse than I once thought, because every so often, my arms/hands will go cold/numb, and that kind of worries me, because it seems to happen more as time goes on.

Why do doors you are supposed to push open have handles? Do they deliberately try to confuse you so that you attempt to pull the handle but fail miserably?

I'm kind of amazed how many tall women there are in Edmonton. Every day it seems like I see multiple women who are as tall as I am. Back home I rarely see women who are close to my height but they're everywhere here.

Hey, I did not come in here to be interrogated! That was my random thought, and there will be no further explanation.

My head started to get itchy like 4 months ago, so there's been a lot of scratching. Will this speed up the balding process?
