This was the season they thought they'd give it one more shot - only a year after getting Huberdeau and Weegar. They ended up starting a sell off. But you can't sell all the vets at once and they did it in an orderly fashion.
And the hurdle in the thread title turned out to be BS.
|
Of the vets Conroy can trade he has traded 7 of them. He has re-signed one of them and he has not traded 3 of them. Not sure how many more vets he is supposed to trade. Don’t think there is a team in the league that has traded more vets than the Flames in the last 25 months.

And the one he re-signed was short 2 year term, at an attractive AAV for any team needing centre depth, with a LNTC in the second year.
By the end of the year Andersson will be gone, Coleman might be as well.

Does HC Admiral Vladivostok have any picks or prospects we might be interested in?

They’re not lining up for him just because he’s cheap for 1 year.
The way some undervalue him on here is scary.
Would I love him with us longer? Absolutely
Do I think he’ll be effective for years to come? Yes
Do I want to pay him 9.5M a season? No sadly his ask from CGY is too rich
Am I angry he wants to go compete? Nope, but I think we need to worry about CGY first from an organizational standpoint
He’s been a great flame, from a guy who was touted as “too fat” when drafted, to arguably one of our best draft picks in the last 10-15 years.
|
He’s never scored 15 goals in his career. 11 is his career high.

Lets take off these flames coloured glasses here. If you are bringing Ras to play as your top pair... you aren't contending for a cup.
Did Ras even have 15 shots on goal last year? it's like a baby seal dies every time he shoots from the point..lol

He had 163 Shots on net. Averaging about 2 per game. Thats good enough to put him 23rd in the NHL amongst dmen

Shots are not an issue for Andersson. He even talked about trying to put up 3 a game in Sutters second season.
He has his warts but offence isn’t an issue.

Probably the best top 4 in the league with Lindell there too.

Lindell-Heiskanen
Harley-Andersson
that's an excellent top 4, whatever pairings you end up running with. Not surprised they're interested.
