Reminds when the Lakers won a game and they started saying let’s get greedy and win more. Westbrook stopped them and said just remember to have fun. He was traded shortly after.

Huska's Heritage Classic pre-game speech was only marginally more intense.
Won't lie, I was a little embarrassed by it (given that they were coming off multiple losses in a row). Meanwhile Woodcrock was blowing his top in the coilers room.
I've been fine with the clips of Huska from the room since then though.

Seravalli's push to get Flames fans to cheer for the Oilers is so weird. Pinder asked him today if Flyers fans would cheer for the Penguins (of course not) and he seemed to hand wave it away because of some subjective valuation that the Flames-Oilers rivalry is not at that level. It's almost like he thinks Flames fans shouldn't be taken seriously. It's so weird and honestly awkward to listen to.
I used to enjoy Frank but man I'd be okay with almost anybody else on BB/Flames Talk going forward.

Frank said he doesn't cheer for anyone, but man, his proximity to the ############ folks really seems to be rubbing off.
the ON crew really do think they're part of the team. Which when they started as a grass roots fan dealy sure that all tracks. But with the NationNetwork and them being a new Media sports news dealy, the 'us' perspective can get grating. I'd much rather have folks like the BB crew, Pike, or Scrop coving my team.
We're really, really lucky.
EDIT: also Frank is getting Pinder'd and I love it.

Stunned to hear Frank relates with a cocky loud-mouth fanbase lol...of course he does. He seems like the type of guy who loves to push buttons, IMO he's just trying to be annoying. Glad the boys don't try to be polite about it and give him the gears, respect.

Pretty sure he owns the BB podcast, its part of the Nation network and under Daily faceoff? I could be wrong on that though.
Edit: Maybe he doesn't own it, but he runs it?

Gotta respect all of Boomer, Warrener and Pinder for consistently and adamantly being on the anti-Oiler train.

A bit of googling as I was curious suggests Daily Faceoff is now just one of the brands under the Nation Network, along with BB. Frank is the "President of Hockey Content at DailyFaceoff.com".
Nation Network is run by Jay Downton in Dumpsterville but is now owned by a media company - Playmaker
/coolstorybro
Not sure how much input there is to shows like BB but I'd imagine they are highly encouraged to have Frank on for the cross promotion if nothing else

I still think Boomer/Pinder/Rhett's take on Bennett leans too heavily on defending the Flames in regards to Bennett.
They gloss over the incompetence of the coaches and the situations he was put in as a young, developing player and write it off as "he wasn't a good player here".

It's both.
They developed him poorly, but he also wasn't good here.
I blame them for not developing him well, I don't blame them for trading him when he did.

He was good in the playoffs here.
Too bad they discounted the kind of value that sort of 'specialist' could bring.

Calling Bennett a unicorn is a bit much.
He poorly developed, and he also did things to keep him down the lineup as well.
He went to a hall of fame coach who got in a proper role and he is doing well. It's a good lesson when hiring bargain bin coaches like Gulutzan.

Nah, Benny is a unicorn.
Back to back finals with him playing wrecking ball up front solidifies this.
He was often the best Flame in the post season in his younger years too. He was one of the few that showed fight against Anaheim and was prominent against the Stars.
There's no player like Sam Bennett anywhere else in the league.

The whole concept of cheering for a team because they’re Canadian is purely a media fabrication. Every serious hockey fan I know that cheers for a Canadian team hates the other 6 Canadian teams.
Frank has no idea what he’s talking about and sounds like an idiot when he pushes this false narrative.
