I'm not usually a fan of fruity beers, but am starting to wonder if my taste buds have changed.
My go to's have always been Keiths or Original 16. Red Stripe, Karlovachko and Singha when I want my taste buds to travel.
For 2 years, Ive been a big fan of Ponderosa Gose. Wildrose almost lost me when they rolled out a 2.0 version but, luckily, seem to have gone back to selling the original again.
For the past 2 weeks though, I can't get enough of Babe - Blueberry VanillaPale Ale. It doesn't have a strong fruity flavor and instead just feels like the perfect summer drink. I dont drink nearly as much as I used to but this beer is good.
Can find both at Sobeys

Anyone try Alaska White? Tried it in Alaska and I love it but can’t get it here even by special order.

For all the NEIPA nerds out there, Sky Rocket III from Establishment is simply the best I have had in YYC. The haze craze is out of control with many breweries doing a new one every month, but this one is legit.

Too strong for my liking, it's like 7.2% and I find it way too rich. I shared a can with 2 friends and felt kind of gross afterwards. Super Saturation from Cabin is still my favourite in the city.

They make some good IPAs for sure. The new Dandy/Twin Sails collaboration beer is ####ing amazing. 10% double IPA and so hazy light doesn't pass through. Really great.

I've been making ginger beer and ciders for the past 2 years. Much lower carbs and tasty too.

Oh god, I didn't know these ones came in cans. The first time I tried one was at the East Kootenay Beer Festival (Fun festival, been doing it for 3 years now). Always fill up a growler, when we are in Banff. Got to get multi 6-packs of those.

I live 2 blocks from Dandy and have something like 10 breweries within a couple kilometers. This may be a problem.
Cabin is probably my fav for hazy IPAs. Super Saturation is just deadly.

This beer is ridiculous. Perfect fall beer.
As if the coffee and spice wasn't enough, it's nitro.

Okay big dramas in Australia. A craft beer advent calendar had their Christmas Day beer, an egg nog porter, recalled!
Quote:
The risk of excess fermentation in the container is due to the beer being prematurely chilled and packaged, resulting in residual fermentable sugar remaining in the can – which when combined with the live yeast culture that resides in all of our beers, can continue to ferment.
This has the potential to result in an increase in ABV rendering the product not fit for sale in current packaging, as well as excessive pressure build up in the can, potentially leading to leaking or rupturing of the container.
|
Mine is now out of the box and in the fridge. I noticed a bit of swelling in the top of the can. This is still okay to drink right? I’m guessing it just be a little stronger and not taste exactly how the brewer intended.

Is there any market for selling beer glasses locally or here on CP? Not wanting to have to ship them anywhere. Mostly singles or doubles. I amassed a fairly sizeable collection from my days working at a liquor store. I’ve got probably around 50 glasses/mugs. Domestic, imported beer, whiskey (Crown, Johnny Walker etc).
