Nice - hoping Useless Ellis is ousted, but not optimistic either...

Well I did my part to cast my ballot even though my husband will go and counteract mine on Monday. I KNOW the UCP candidate in my area and I KNOW he will win and I guess that's okay because he personally is actually a pretty great guy and I know his feelings on Danielle are not positive. I voted against him with the hope of affecting the popular vote %.

Can you distract your husband or possibly take him on a surprise road trip Monday? Asking for a province.

So why is he personally voting for the UCP, if you don't mind sharing? Does he actually like Danielle Smith?

I think it's because he likes our MLA personally and our riding has done well the last 8 years with him as our representative. I also believe he thinks the NDP are bad more than the UCP are good but honestly, we don't talk about it because it causes arguments.

Sounds like cochrane airdrie. Guthrie seems like an OK guy, but has been hiding in the shadows because of who he associates with.

Jason Kenney’s government forced employers to require their employees to be vaccinated? I must have missed that one.

Calgary West seems to be considered a pretty safe UCP riding but I've seen way more NPD than UCP signs in people's yards, maybe the communities I drive through aren't reflective of the riding as a whole but I'm hoping that sanity is more widespread than the experts and pollsters think.

Free market deregulation baby!! Let the employers ban whoever they want from working. Corporations know best. Just sit back and wait for those sweet sweet profits to trickle down to us plebs.

I mean, anyone who is mad about that must be SO angry with the UCP for implementing those policies. Like … mad enough that they will surely punish them at the polls by voting for someone else.
And because anti Vaxers are the smartest Albertans they will absolutely not be mollified by the same party picking a new leader, who hypocritically will get vaccinated herself, but pay lip service to anti vax ideas and pander to those who felt oppressed by the decisions made by her own party with most of the same ministers.
Nope, no way. They won’t be that gullible. Way too smart.

I have always voted conservative (real conservative parties, not this insane extremism that has taken over) with the exception of the last election which was my first ever NDP vote as I suspected the train wreck that was coming, not this I mean, nobody could have predicted it would get this crazy.
Both of my retired parents have always voted conservative. All three of us just voted NDP in a battleground area of Calgary, so fingers crossed.
Please let us off this crazy train...

Stay Classy SE calgary.
Andrew Stewart (NDP, Calgary Hays) put up a large sign on a main road today. It wasn't there at 7:30 and was there when I drove past at 6pm.
It had an spray painted swastika on it. The swastika was not painted correctly. In less than twelve hours, the sign went up and was defaced.
Also, what's with people not being able to spray paint a swastika properly? You'd think that if you hated things enough to do that, you'd know how to do it properly.

The Breakdown @TheBreakdown
It’s a totally normal election when a school board has to ask a candidate (who was an MLA and is still technically a Minister) to…
Stop lying and apologize.
Yup.
Totes normal election we’re having here in Alberta.

So much for my saying that Guthrie was lying low and embarrassed of what the ucp has become. Dude made me look bad and I'm not even voting for him.

I believe this is my first post during this current election campaign in this thread.
I consider myself to be heavily interested in politics. That being said, for the first time, I will not be voting. There are too many key issues for me where both the NDP and UCP do not align with my views. My wife is in the same boat, she is also undecided. Come Monday… we will still both be undecided.
I do have two young adult children who will be voting NDP.
Will be interesting when we get to the federal election… I may have a hard time with that election too if the conservatives go too far right.
