Bennett was playing 4th line minutes, now he’s getting top 6 and pp time.
Monny is on a less than a 50 point pace although until recently he was playing top line and 1st pp minutes. Now I doubt he’s healthy and hasn’t been for some time. Until he proves he is, he’ll be valued as such.
It looks like Sutter is turning him into the checking centre, since his shot seems to have disappeared. He’ll be lucky to break 40 points next season unless his current usage changes.

Are you suggesting Bennett played the entire season on the 4th line? because he didn't
Watching that tournament was when I believed that Johnny was going to stack up with McDavid, Matthews, MacKinnon etc. I remember thinking his ceiling was one of the best offensive players of this generation. A true franchise player.

Shiny New Penny + confirmation bias = 400+ games of mediocrity
Is that your equation?! The Bennett fanboys are fawning like they were after his first games as a Flames and can't figure out what went wrong.
Debating Bennett is fine but why attack the poster because they have a different opinion? Did they call you a fanboy, if not then why?? Lots of good points on both sides no need to target the posters.

I never called him or implied that he was a fanboy.
Had I said 'You and your Bennett fanboy brethren...', you might have a point.
Move along.

All those guys are centers, so that would have been unfair. But there's no reason to think he wouldn't be considered in the Kucherov tier if he had a Point tier center.

Batherson + Norris would be awful. This team needs more elite talent and neither of those guys are that.
Stutzle is the obvious piece but unlikely.
Frankly the article is just someone filling space. Trading Tkachuk to Ottawa actually makes little sense for either team. The brother connection is the only reason it even gets talked about.
There are far better fits (like the aforementioned Kings)
I have to respectfully disagree. I think Tkachuk may be our main trade chip in landing an established #1C like Eichel, but if that fails, this deal with Ottawa would be the kind of deal I would love to see. Both Batherson and Norris are going to be stars one day; both have size, speed, and skill. In a few years, both will be better than Tkachuk has been this year, and both will be cheaper. I might even consider swapping out Norris for Pinto. Both those guys are #1C in the making.
