✅- A LUCRATIVE position if he doesn’t run - We see patronage appointments all the time

So really none of these things are really terrible on their own, and did all she want is his endorsement?

Biggest takeaway for me was just re-emphasizing how this lunatic got one on one time with the Premier so that she could advocate on his behalf to try get his criminal case dropped.

The fact that an election in Alberta is so close feels bizarre.

Ya it's so lucky that I even question the validity. I'm not even a family, just a single person and have been looking for a long time. South Calgary there's basically none, called them all, booking a year out for a first meet. Had to find one in the NE, but still have to wait a few months for a meeting before taking me on. For me I just need one as a formality for some other stuff, so I'm not even looking for a doctor who cares or listens to me, and that would be even harder. Every time I found one prior, they upped and left within 6 months.

Calgary pastor alleges UCP bribed him, Smith lied about nature of call:
https://calgary.citynews.ca/2023/05/...ges-ucp-smith/
In addition, he says he was told that if he gave up politics, he would be hired to oversee the COVID-19 panel, which is now led by Preston Manning. He says he turned down the offer.
He also alleges he was offered amnesty to keep his “mouth shut about UCP tyranny” a few months later, and a “safe UCP riding” and $2 million from an unaffiliated third party.
The pastor also claims other high-profile people charged with COVID/Coutts crimes were made offers by Smith’s reps.

Yeah so he's either totally insane or he's telling the truth. I don't see any other explanation here.
If he's nuts (which I absolutely think he is) then Smith is on record trying to help a mysoginistic, racist, science denying freedumber which is pretty dodgy company to be keeping let alone trying to "pardon" lol.
If he's being honest with his accusations....well......

Hopefully his extreme views and calling out Smith sways the nut jobs to vote for his side and end up costing the UCP. Would be hilarious.
Was going to vote for Danny but Art sounds like he will get us to Florida politics.

She would be replaced by someone similar though. She is really an appropriate reflection of what the modern Conservative Party looks like in Alberta.

At the rate the UCP is swirling into the toilet morality wise, I would guess Pawlowski will be her replacement.

For her, and Alberta politics as a whole. If a bottom of the barrel candidate like Smith can win, then there's nothing that can hold the UCP back from doing whatever they want. Without fear of repercussions and a fringe extremist group in charge of the party, it's going to get really ugly in this province

More interesting, IMO if NDP wins there's a real possibility that a party left of them emerges by the subsequent election to challenge their centrism.

If any left wing party gained any traction at all even a bit of vote splitting would guarantee a UCP victory no matter what nut job they selected.
