Man someone needs to explain how Va tech can be ranked that high...they simply are not that good AND play in a weak conference.

11th ranked strength of schedule is why. Out of conference wins against Big 12 North champ Nebraska and a consistently good East Carolina team along with one of their 3 losses against 12-0 Alabama certainly help too.

Next year I think opening day PSU goes to Bama for a game. Or as I like to call them the Gumps.

in local football news:
I am so glad OU beat Oklahoma state. Those CowJoke fans were running their mouths all week. Their starting offense was horrible saturday. Of course OU's def was outstanding after stinking up the field the previous week.
OU still had more injuries for this game and had to give a walk on freshman some serious playing time as starting center. I sure hope they can rectify this situation for next year. I think this year he gets a pass because of the injuries ( and rightfully so) but a couple more stinkers like this and Big Game Bob might turn into No Job BOb!

Yeah, gotta give it to OU for showing up for that one big time. The cowboys didn't have a sniff in that game. one of the beauties of College ball is that the rivalry games at the end of the year mean teams seldom pack it in early and typically show big in those games. great stuff.

Reports are out confirming the obvious, Weis is done. Let the speculation as to his replacement begin.
As an MSU fan I'm bummed by this, I was looking forward to more ND losses. An actual coach might have some success with the amount of talent on that roster.

anyone see highlights from the SC - UCLA game? USC moved up a notch for me (up to level 1) after going play action over the top after UCLA's timeout with 45 seconds left. Perfect answer to a dumb move. I've never liked SC much, but I do like Pete Carroll, I bet Rick is a bit more selective in when he decides playing 60 minutes is important.

So my roomie was down in Missoula for the game and said it was close to the coolest atmosphere he's seen for a college game (and he saw a NC in 97). The comeback was unreal and he won't shut up about it.

Even though I hate them, Missoula has to be one of the best/most intimidating places to watch a game.
Probably my second favorite experience after an LSU night game.

SON OF A BITCH.
Florida's starting DE Carlos Dunlap was arrested on suspicion of Driving under the influence.
Hes done. Meyer suspend his ass for the rest of the year and kick him off the team. At university of Florida if you get convicted of DUI you are suspended from school for a year. thats the rules of the school not just sports

If what I read is true then he has no business wearing a gator uniform again.
but in this country you are innocent until proven guilty. there is one guy on a gator board I am on that said he was sleeping in his car on the side of the road.
But facts are
He REFUSED to do a breath test on the side of the road so that is an automatic go to jail free car ride right there.
I dont want to see him playing but really there isn't enough info out in public.

Altitude will be airing the Montana/Stephen F Austin game on Saturday for those who get it (Res Alien) or anyone who has a great satellite package.
