Why couldn't it? Very confident for being wrong. There is absolutely nothing stopping a team from offering a 2023 pick. Teams can't even make conditional trades based on a player signing anymore anyways. I am sure the acquiring team would want to give a 24 pick so we will see what Conroy can do.
There isn't even much risk to acquiring team as all the contract details would have been figured out and waiting to become official.

I really like the Washington and Buffalo deals, which probably means they aren’t realistic. With Dallas it has to be Wyatt Johnson. If Conroy pulls off the WSH/BUF deal and the DAL deal he is a heck of a GM

Washington's goal is to move up for Michkov. That falling through could lead to them trading that pick for a player who can play now.

Jim Nill was legendary in Detroit for his drafting. If I'm guessing, guys like that always regress to what they're good at. Dallas needs to get rid of guys like Benn, and have a couple good draft years to sustain what they've built. That said, I think Nill likes having to draft and develop young guys, so I don't think they'd be the partner we be looking for to give up young assets or picks. I still don't see Colombus doing anything. They have very little to get into the playoffs as in their pipeline or their existing roster. To try to add now is foolish on their part. Seattle, I personally don't see a fit because of their team make up. They want fast. Not sure about Wright after. Carolina seems like a good possibility. For Lindholm I'd want more than that though. Pittsburgh's Dubas is on record saying they want to get younger so I'm not sure they're in the market for a Flame. Buffalo seems like a perfect fit for Hanifin.

That Washington deal is really good. Great player likely available at 8, McMichael can develop into a 2nd line center, and I don’t hate Mantha, could resign after this year on a more friendly deal and seems to be a player who can play up and down the lineup when required.

I can only see Washington moving 8 if Michkov goes before that.

I'm going to assume you mean Shane Wright. Tyler Wright is a 50 year old ex Oiler draft pick.

If Seattle is offering the former 4th overall Centre who was the presumptive #1 prospect until a week before the draft, I’d have to think we take that deal and run.

I agree, which means they likely aren’t making any trade until the draft.
